Mid point along keys.quality resort

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Pros: Ambiance a near perfect tropical paradise
Cons: Beach could be made more enticing. The debris should if possible be prevented from spoiling the foreshore by a barrier or net at a sensible distance.
Location: Mid keys. A number of state parks secluded beaches and of course Key West, all at convenient distances.
Overall ambiance boarders on ideal. Accommodation old style, comfortable and spacey. Resort areas, pools, beaches bars and sports areas all very well designed and never too busy. Proximity to main road one downside. Restaurant v. Good quality."sensible portions"No need for ridiculous habit of "doggy bags" most of which I wager ends in the bin on the following day.

This Hotel lives up to its name!

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Pros: I loved my stay at Tranquility Bay. I was a very relaxing "Tranquil" atmosphere!
Cons: I didn't like that most activies were an extra charge.
I booked this hotel because I got a great deal through expedia. It was paradise! It took my breath away from the time we drove in. The lay out of the resort makes you feel like you are in a differant world. We stayed in the garden area and there where several buildings that are best descibed as townhome meets English Garden meets Beach house. Very quiet and private. The room and bathroom were up to date, a good size and very clean. The beach was gorgeous with a beautiful sunset view. Ther were lots of activities, however, none were included in the room price or the resort fee. We ate at the resort restaurant which was the highest rated in the area. The food was exceptional and so was the service. The only down side was it was a little pricey for my budget. I wasn't happy about paying a resort fee and having no real benefit from it. I'm very glad I got a good deal through expedia or I would have missed out on this beautiful resort!

Resort grounds are lush and tropical Key West

Posted 08-Dec-2014
Pros: The grounds and the beach.
Cons: Management's hospitality for quests staying in rooms with no kitchens.
Location: Marathon has shopping centers and nice restaurants. The Cuban eatery across from Tranquility Bay resort serves breakfast and lunch.
The resort grounds are lush with palm trees and tropical plants. The room decor is Key West style and roominess, especially, bathroom is spacious. The main pool is large with a small section walk-in like beach. There is a large beach with white sugar sand facing North that you can see partial sun rise and sun sets. Maintenance is somewhat nonexistence as daily accumulated seed weeds and palm tree debris were not cleaned. The resort seems like it was designed for time sharing condo-like units that have kitchens and large living spaces and separate bedrooms. My room in the Garden section is a regular room with 2 queens size beds and no kitchen. Management needs to improve their hospitality for this type of guests staying in the no kitchen facilities with at least coffee at the Lobby in the morning. The room's coffee machine has just 1-cup bag regular and a decaf coffee. If you drink coffee in the afternoon, you have no coffee in the morning. Regarding the location of the Garden section, it is at the end of the resort near the garbage dumpster, so after parking the car, you have to pass by the dumpster before you can get to your room. Not too pleasant. It should be noted that my reservation was booked months in advance and still did not get a better location in the resort.

Pros: Beautiful grounds, extremely clean, the Villa was wonderful. Located in the Middle Keys so convenient for sightseeing.
Cons: Reported a problem with the safe in the room and no one came to fix it. Could not communicate with cleaning staff, they did not speak English
We have stayed here many times and always a good experience

Away from the noise and the crowds

Posted 04-Dec-2014
We felt welcomed and serviced from the time we arrived. The condo was very well furnished! Loved the porches! The grounds are lovely as are the pool and the beach. The food is pricey but absolutely wonderful. Sorry that the beach is very short so there are no long strolls to begin or end the day and the sea grass has a very strong smell of rotting vegetation.

It was awesome. Loved the tiki bar on the beach.

Posted 01-Dec-2014
Pros: The resort was lovely. I loved the upper and lower balcanies. It was clean and pretty.
Cons: Housekeeper was a bit rude.
Location: Two pools and a beach tiki bar plus lots of water sports on-site. Great restaurants and Key West was an hour away.
My husband and 2 adult daughters stayed the week before Thanksgiving. What a nice break. Loved the Tiki bar on the beach and the choice of pools. The only issue I had was on one of the days, the housekeeper wanted to come in and do her thing with linens etc. I let her know my daughters were actually taking showers and getting dressed. She was a bit put out that she had to come back and rolled her eyes. I noticed there were no wash clothes left that day. Not sure if it was accidental or pay back.

Nice hotel but beach not nice for swimming.

Posted 01-Dec-2014
Hotel is nice, clean and new. Very peaceful. Nice swimming pool, but the beach is not good for swimming - very small swimming area, shallow water and lot of sea grass. All together overpriced, at least for 2 bed room.
