“Would go back”

After traveling the Keys over the course of a few days, this hotel was a welcome change from the others. We noticed right away that the 2 double beds were actually 2 queen beds, which made a huge difference in our comfort as a family of four. The room was also much more spacious than others we had stayed in. Of course, the price per night was significantly higher, too, without any of the bells and whistles like a free breakfast, in-room microwave and refrigerator, but for our one night stay in Key West, this was an indulgence that was worth it. Proximity to Mallory Square was excellent. We did not have to battle crowds to view the sunset or to check out the scene on the main drag, and yet we were removed from all of the hustle and bustle. Be aware, parking is $20/night. All said and done, the room was very clean and spacious, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the property location was highly desirable. I would go back.

“Very nice hotel, would stay here again”

Very nice hotel, just a few short blocks away from Duval Street, close enough, but just far enough away to escape the noise and the crazies at night.... Lovely spacious room, very quiet, very clean. Only a few steps away from Mallory Square, great observation area to sip a cocktail and people watch. Bonus was watching the docked cruise ships. The only negative comment we can find for the hotel was the sliding bathroom door did not stay completely closed. This was minor, and had we called maintenance, we are sure it would have been corrected. We didn't bother, and it would not stop us from staying there again.

Area recommendations
We would recommend staying a little off the main drag... at locations like the Westin. Friends of our stayed in the middle of town, and were unable to sleep peacefully/through the night because of all of the antics on Duval Street.

“Will not return”

Our room was clean and nice but we couldn't see the ocean unless we walked thru the restaurant to the boardwalk and then there were no chairs to sit and watch the water. A cruise ship was parked in front almost daily. You could barely see the pool because of all the greenery in front of our room which faced the pool. There was one restaurant and it was wayyyyyy overpriced. We saved on changing sheets every day and using our towels over and over but they would take our bars of soap every day and give us new ones which is such a waste.. The bar service around the pool really needs to be stepped up. No refrigerator in the room which is a big minus. At night the boardwalk was packed with people and vendors. Everyone wanted to see the sunset. We never saw it.

Area recommendations
Stay at the Hyatt...Its gorgeous. Or if you like the beach, stay on the other side of the island. You can walk or take a bike ride from one side to the other. The trolley makes it seem like its such a long way. But you can walk on duvall st from one side of the island to the other. We didn't figure this out until friday. We would have been on bikes and to the other side of the island on the beach every day. If you love cats, go see the Hemmingway house.

“Perfect Place For Vacation”

Great spot on the marina in Old Town. Two blocks from the best part of Duval Street (Near Captain Tony's, Sloppy Joe's, and Rick's). Great staff and locals are very welcoming. You can't beat the sunsets from the marina. Mallory square is right there!

“Great Hotel, Great Location, but locked up tight by 10p.”

I had read a couple of reviews prior to booking here that indicated the condition of the hotel had deteriorated. We saw none of that. The hotel is in fantastic condition in and out. The location right on the water and 2 short blocks off the corner of Green and Duval (the heart of the city) could not be better. Great restaurants, shops, scooter rentals, jet ski tours right off the dock, and plentyy of interesting people watching are in within a very short walk. The one and only complaint we did have was with the fact that there is not a shop, pool or even a bar open past 10p. I had brought my 17 year old daughter so partying in the streets (the normal after hours pass-time in KW) was not a great option. I normally wouldn't complain about the lack of rental movies in the room but with nothing else doing so early in the evening....... Our guess was that things shut down in order to keep the partyy out on Duval street and not disturb the guests. Definately not a deal killer but it made it tough to enjoy a down night. The Westin still gets 2 thumbs up from us.
