Key West Trip Sept 2014

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: It was clean and comfortable. Concierge was extremely helpful in setting up a couple of excursions.
Cons: Nothing really important.
Location: Right on the beach, but a short walk to Duval St.
My wife and I really enjoyed Key West. The hotel was right on the beach. Our room was "ocean view", but wasn't fully facing the ocean. You could see the ocean though. The hotel was quiet. Our room was clean and really good size. The amenities were as advertised. We did not eat at the restaurant on site as we spent most of our time up and down Duval St checking out all the establishments. They do have a small shop for coffee, soft drinks, snacks etc which is pretty handy.

Room size

We were celebrating out anniversary and the room was small to us. My husband called the front lobby and we were upgraded. The upgrade was fabulous!

On the best beach in the keys

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Location: Hotel is close to southernmost point and Duval street. It was a 1 1/4 mile walk to the other end which wasn't a bad walk at all. Just hot!!
We did not have a nice view from our balcony, but didn't want to pay more since we weren't in our room much. Had a little fridge to keep beverages cold. The coffee maker was an espresso That I didn't care for and they did not have free coffee in the lobby. After seeing some other beaches, we had the nicest as there wasn't a lot of seaweed in the water. The staff would put on a chair cover, towel and put the umbrella up in just the right spot for shade!

ok but ....

Posted 22-Sep-2014
Pros: the room
Location: centric
I think charging 20 $ parking for a motorcycle and 30 $ fr breakfast is too much. the rooms are very clean but the aisle ..... I saw trays on the concrete floor with rest from dinners about 10 am ....

Nice Hotel. Disappointing beach size.

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: Excellent Rooms. Location.
Cons: Beach
Location: Great location. Close to Duval St. where everything happens.
Overall experience good. Very nice Hotel infrastructure and amenities. Weddings on the weekends interfere with your stay. Beach outdoor activities (jet-ski, etc.) occupy too much space on the beach. Water shore line dirt.

Excellent... but review the room bill carefully.

Posted 11-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff, location, amenities and price.
Cons: Full disclosure of misc. room charges would be nice.
Location: The Reach is in close proximity to most of the best things to do in Key West.
The good: The staff is first rate, the location is ideal, the grounds are well kept and the room meets or exceeds all 3 star criteria (this is not the Waldorf Astoria New York, but more like its budget-friendly cousin so set your expectations accordingly). Hotel parking is pricey (this is a must in this part of Key West, don't bother trying to park elsewhere), but the room-service dining menu is an excellent bargain given the quality of the offering. It's within walking distance to Duvall St and most historical attractions, so you may never need to drive. The sunset/sunrise from the beach-front gazebo is very nice. A great place for couples (probably not so much for families). The bad: Examine your bill closely and inquire about any "mystery charges". Beyond resort fees, taxes and services we were charged for some things that had no description on the bill and were never fully explained to us. We were told that they would be removed from the final bill (similar to a room deposit), but they were not. They corrected this for us over the phone, but had we not been watching we'd have missed it. Overall, The Reach is probably the best deal in this part of Key West for couples or small groups given all that's offered for the price. We will definitely be back.

Horrible service needs renovations

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: ZERO
Cons: RENOVATIONS AND NEW MGMT.
Location: GOOD LOCATION PERIOD.O
Terrible in many ways . The staff super lost no help...The hotel needs to be renovated. The $ 25 parking & resort fee of $ 30 ridiculous. Told management that was not happy she said there is nothing She could do.
