Great way to experience Key West

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: checkout time doesn't mean 'get out' time
We stayed briefly at this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer! The location is amazing, and the amenities offered by the hotel make you feel welcome and relaxed. We had to check out at the 11:00am checkout time, but we had the rest of the day to spend in the keys before heading out. Usually that would be a hassle, but not here. We loved that the hotel offered bathroom keys and use of the entire facility for the rest of the day to guests upon checkout. This way we were still able to park our car, use the pools and beaches, and walk around Duval Street without feeling evicted. It's a pricey place to stay, but well worth it. There are many free events going on around the beautiful grounds throughout the week and coupons to use at their restaurant and spa. All of the staff we dealt with were helpful, courteous, and professional. I couldn't be more pleased with the convenience of the location - at the end of Duval, right on the beach, and near all the happening places on the key.

Great Location

Nice hotel in all respects. Biggest issue was cost. Based on amenities etc it should be priced closer to 250 a night. Charging for parking and a resort fee on top of the room cost was way over the top. If I return I will not stay there nor recommend. An elevator would be nice as well for third floor folks. It's true they showed the cost up front but it does not remove my comments.

Great location and a very good hotel. Suzie, concierge, put us onto a great fishing charter and several good restaurants that we would not have found on our own.

Winter Get Away

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Clean. Quiet. Plenty of places to lay in the sun and be part of the action, or find remote areas to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Cons: No complaints
Location: Most everything is within walking distance including Duval Street, the museums, art galleries, and the Hemmingway house.
The overall facility at the Southernmost Hotel was great. The entire area was quiet, while only a stone's throw from the action on Duval Street. The sister property, Southernmost on the Beach, is right across the street and is a great place to hang out, lay in the sun, and grab your favorite adult beverage. The service between both Southernmost properties was friendly, responsive, and the stafff worked to make the stay pleasant throughout the week. I would highly recommend either of the Southernmost facilities.

First trip to Key West

Posted 15-Feb-2015
Pros: The location is wonderful. The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Amenities were great.
Cons: The housekeeping. The bottom of our bathtub was really grimy after two days it was not cleaned during our stay.
Location: See previous entry.
This was my first trip to Key West and I chose this hotel based on the reviews that it received. The staff there was wonderful. We arrived early and they stowed our luggage and there were bathrooms/showers that we could use to change into more suitable clothing for the weather. Everyone was very helpful with directions and suggestions for places to eat and see. The Sands Cafe is a part of the resort, located on the beach, and they had some of the best food on their menu. I recommend the drunken scallops. The resort is located at one end of Duval Street which is the main street with many shops, restaurants, bars and attractions. The Butterfly Conservatory is right across the street. My friend and I walked everywhere the entire week that we were there. There are many choices of transportation. Bikes, scooters, trolleys, small vehicles that look like golf carts or taxis. It was a very enjoyable first experience!

Not what expected for the price payed.

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Cons: Service.
We got a rate of around $400 per night. The room was set next to the Housekeeping office. Every morning at 7 am, the maids talked on the phone or shouted amongst them waking us up every morning. The facility isnt that close to the beach. The beach cafe which is part of the hotel was horrible. The food was stale and tasted really bad, plus it was expensive, around $60. The staff's treatment wasn't that good and had little knowledge of the Key. Would not recommend.

Stay at southern most hotel

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: Location was great, nicely updated room, friendly staff
Cons: Need a hot tub or two
Location: Great location. All major attractions of old town key west were within walking distance.
4 night stay in early February. Pleased with short commute from airport. Spent most time in old town key west. Many restarantes, night life and cultural activities
