“Great stay and will return”

Great hotel and wonderful staff. One bedroom, bedrooms are a little small and the beds could be more up to date but overall the accomodations are extremely clean and modern. The pool area is very pleasant and Derek is very accommodating. Deserves a number one rating in Key West and we will chose this hotel when we return to the area.

“We loved it!”

Great location at a very convenient spot. Very nice and helpful staff. The resort is superbly equipped and maintained at a great level. We hope to be back soon.

“Impressed... But could be better”

Very nice amenities , the place was cozy especially the pool area ... The hotel and the suite very clean, the happy hour and the smoothies were a nice touch plus the dove chocolate bars ... The only two things I had issues with were that first the rooms were on the small side... With a low platform bed, it was kinda tight to maneuver around and also the rate listed for a two bedroom suite was good for 2 people so if there are 4 people in your group, you have to pay surcharge per person on top of the resort fee per night... That was tough for me to understand... More often than not you would would have 4 people for a two bedroom suite, surcharge would be more logical if you have more than 4.... Other than that, it was a good choice of hotel...

“very nice hotel”

We enjoyed our stay very much. Rooms were clean, nice decor, enjoyed the various complimentary perks, such as wine & snacks poolside for happy hour, little ice creams in the freezer each night, chocolates on the pillows when beds were turned down. Only complaint is that the bedroom was pretty small. Overall suite was big, but for us it was somewhat wasted since we weren't spending too much time in the hotel. Would have preferred a smaller living room and kitchen and a bigger bedroom (had to climb over bed to get to the bathroom, for example).

“Will return again for long stay”

The hotel rooms are better than they appear. We stayed at a 5 star 4 nights before staying here for 2 nights and this hotel stay was far more enjoyable. Two couples in a 2 bedroom suite and the common kitchen area was the most impressive I have seen. Twelve foot granite counter tops and drawer slide fridge and freezer, etc. Both couples agreed we should come back and stay longer. The pool is just right for quiet enjoyment and has a happy hour from 4-5:30 with complementary wine. It was the best place I have stayed in a while.

“" A dream vacation"”

We were looking for paradise in the sun and found it! The accomodations were wonderful...I am determined to go back every year, more if I could but for now this is my dream :) Santa Maria offered everything we needed to relax and enjoy the sun with all the 'tips' of where to go and what to do in the area...awesome place!!!!

Area recommendations

We loved the location...easy to walk to the restaurants and fun that Duval Street offers and just minutes to the beach...what else do you want when you are in Key West!

“Good choice for Key West”

This was a very nice hotel in a good location. It was a bit of a walk to the heart of the actio on Duval, but not too bad. Parking spots in the hotel's lot were always readily available - and much appreciated. Very close walk to the Sounthernmost Point and about 6 blocks from the Hemingway House. Our one-bedroom suite was very nice, but we were surprised by all of the stairs. We were on the second floor so there was a set of stairs to get to the suuite. Once inside the suite, we discovered that it was on two levels, with the bedroom/bathroom a flight of stairs up from the kitchen/livingroom/powder room - a bit of an inconvenience. The kitchen was very large, beautiful and well-equipped. We enjoyed the mini-Dove bars that were placed in the freezer every evening, as well as the daily muffin delivery and bottled water. The livingroom had a comfortable couch, two chairs and a very large flat screen TV (maybe 52"). The upper level was not quite as comfortable. The bedroom was rather small, without very much room to maneuver. The bathroom had nice decor, but there was virtually no couner space. Towels were great - large and thick. The hotel's pool area and landscaping were lovely. Free smoothies and fresh fruit all day long and free wine and snacks at happy hour by the pool were a really nice benefit. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and would certainly stay there again on a return visit.

“Enjoyable Stay”

Had a wonderful experience at the Santa Maria. Would stay here again. Felt very modern. Pool area was nice. Enjoyed the smoothies and happy hour. Clean.
