clean, basic " old fashioned " Keys place

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: served it's purpose for a one night stay
Cons: add to breakfast menu ( eggs?)
Location: Fishing...close to Key west
Nice staff, everything " worked ", clean, basic.......breakfast OK. Families should " pay up " for a suite.

Great Location

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff
Cons: Updates needed in rooms
Location: 20 minutes from Key West couldn't ask for better.
The staff was superb the overall experience was great, the room itself was a little dated which made it appear not clean even though it was clean.

Don't do it

This is one of the worst hotels in the keys. It is not a resort. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money. This place should be charging less than 100 dollars a night.

The World is Wonderful at Parmers Resort

Posted 25-Jun-2014
Pros: The room was spacious, no one felt cramped.
Cons: Nothing. Leave it just the way it is.
Location: It was in the Keys, there were lots of things.
When I booked my room, I was not sure what this place would be like because it looked a little older than the kinds of hotels that I usually pick. What a wonderful surprise! Parmers is an old-fashioned, Florida Keys resort. I had a lovely, immaculate suite with a large bedroom, large bathroom, full kitchen and a spectacular view from the back deck. Everything was relaxed and laid-back. They have hammocks all over the place where you can just "hang out." The pool was nice. Everything was well-maintained. I will go back again.

Vacation

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: Extremely clean rooms and well kept. Very friendly staff. They wanted to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
Cons: Newer AC units
Location: You have to pretty much drive somewhere to do anything, but we knew that going in and were fine with it.
We enjoyed staying at Parmer's. The staff was very friendly and the room very clean. The only issue we had was that the AC unit was one of the older ones and it ran the entire time and was a little noisy. Other than that, this place was a very fine place to stay. Pool was good, hammocks were nice, room was clean, TV was small, but you aren't in Florida to watch much TV. We would stay here again for sure.

Clean pleasant hotel near Looe Key

Posted 20-Jun-2014
Pros: Cleanliness, nice pool area
Cons: more comfortable pillows
Location: SCUBA and snorkeling at Looe Key Dive Center about a mile away. Key West 45 min. Boondocks and Looe Key outdoor bar good food and atmosphere
Chose this place based on wanting to be near Looe Key and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was a basic two queen beds with refrigerator and microwave. The refrigerator was a small dorm size rather than the tiny hotel ones, so that was a plus. The overall room size was comfortable and the bathroom was large. Everything was very clean! We did not have room service daily and had to get our own towels each day but that was not a problem. The sink was not draining properly and once I told them they came to fix it within 20 minutes! The grounds were nice and well kept. We used the picnic tables and grill since we brought our own food to cook out. Enjoyed the heated pool. The place is located right on the water and we enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks by the water. It's a mile from the Looe Key Dive resort, where we went SCUBA diving and snorkeling from. We were able to lay all our gear out to dry back at Parmers.

Inhospitable

Posted 28-May-2014 on Hotels.com
When I booked the stay, I thought I booking a resort. In actuality, it is a fish camp. It is an older place made up of multiple cottages and buildings. We arrived at 10:30 in the morning and were told that checking time is 4:00 and they wouldn't budge. The room was clean but upon check-in, we were given a list of things that are forbidden in the rooms: coolers, pets and their associated penalties. The check-in literature included the information that "upon your departure, if we determine that you [insert infraction here] we will charge your credit card [insert penalty here]. I felt like I couldn't leave a used tissue in the trash for fear of being charged for an infraction. I won't even consider returning.
