Hübsches "kleines" Hotel mit Palmem

Posted 27-May-2015

Hotel was beachy

Posted 26-May-2015
Shore was disappointing. But then when I saw the other beaches of the keys i wasn't very impressed with any of them. They seemed to look the best on Key West. But they may have looked nice in some of the pay to get in park beaches. I only checked out free beaches. Very low water pressure in hotel. Might be because it's an island but I don't really know. Hotel was beachy. By that I mean it wasn't pristine with being perfect. It was nice enough and a little rough around the edges. Flooring in restroom was redone sloppy with grout smeared all over it. Window unit was located right next to the only appropriate mirror to style hair and it would blast you with air. Hotel has a pool/jacuzzi located right in beach so that was nice. Parking lot is gravel and spaces are narrow so you are more likely to get door dings. Lots of hammocks/chairs/shade along beach. I had plenty of places to sit outside. The key this hotel is located on (Lost Key, Layton) doesn't have much for stores/food. Luckily there is a convenience store right across the street. If you want to visit key west it is a very LONG drive. 75 miles to Key West with speed limits varying from 40-55 mostly one lane. Overall I was happy with hotel.

Great place to stay in the Keys!

Posted 23-May-2015
Nice waterfront rooms with an island feel. The best part is they offer complimentary kayak use with your stay, and there's a nice area to put in and go kayaking just steps from the rooms. The breakfast is small, just bagels, muffins or danishes and orange juice or coffee.

Nice place to stay

Posted 16-May-2015
Location: Lots of restaurants, animal shows at the Theater by the Sea, state park in Layton (1/2 mile to the north of the hotel), kayaking, fishing, snorkeling.
Nice hotel, with rooms facing the ocean to the west so you'll have sunset views. The rooms are clean and set up nicely. Ours had two bathrooms, one with a large garden tub and one with a large stand up shower enclosure. Also, ours had two mini-kitchens and two bedrooms, each with access to a large patio facing the ocean. The staff are friendly, free breakfast each morning at 8am, available kayaks and beach cruisers, a pool and hot tub. There was a nice dock to relax on and watch the fish. The only thing I'd say is less than great is that the road is close by and you can hear the trucks driving all night as there is only one highway in and out of the Keys. But you would have this issue with every other hotel int the Keys so it's not something that can be changed.

Great place to relax

Posted 16-May-2015
Pros: The surroundings and the ability to enjoy sunsets from our rocking chairs on the porch of our unit and all the spaces to relax out by the water.
Cons: The units could be updated, but were comfortable and clean as they are.
Location: There are many things to do within a few miles--good restaurants, party boats, Anne's Beach, terrific views.
The surroundings made it extremely pleasing. We very much enjoyed our stay. It made us think of Old Florida. The grounds were exceedingly well-kept and very attractive. We especially enjoyed sitting out under coconut palms and tiki-like spots. We found everything very pleasing and intend to return.

Hotel mit traumhaften Sonnenuntergang

Posted 15-May-2015
Location: Dolphin Resarch Center Key West
