Loved it!

Posted 29-Jan-2015
We absolutely loved this resort. If you're looking for a nice quiet get away this is it. It takes a little driving to get to some attractions and almost 2 hours to Key West, but if you're looking for relaxation, quietness and cleanliness this is the place. Complimentary breakfast was small but sufficient to start the day. Coffee and a bagel on the porch, great start to any day! We used the free kayaks one day, saw no fish but could see the gulf bottom through the glass bottom kayak.

Hemmingway Suite

Posted 27-Jan-2015
Pros: The views are beautiful
Cons: moldy smell in room have washer/dryer for long term stays
The suite had beautiful views! But the bedroom closest to hwy1 ,the shower did not work well , hot water would never get hot.On the wall behind head board are 4 air conditioner units ,that vibrated all night. There was a smell in the rooms like mold, our cloths picked up the smell .We where there 5 days ,it would be nice if there was a washer/dryer (maybe next time we come) The pool is very nice and the kayka are a nice bonus. We enjoyed the quite and relaxing days and nights ,will come back.

Pros: Close to water. Florida funky. Decent size room.
Cons: Open for continental breakfast before 8am, or have restaurant on premises or nearby. Higher wattage light bulbs. Power continually went off.
Location: Location was 14 miles or so from any decent restaurants, in both directions. Would recommend to someone wanting to fish, or cook in at room.
Enjoyable trip, but would prefer to have been closer to Islamorada with its restaurants and other activities.

Beautiful Views, Right on the Water

Posted 25-Jan-2015
Pros: The water, dock, lounge chairs, palm trees, pool, hot tub, kayaks.....
Cons: New building (not likely). There is a bit of road noise as it is right off the main road.
Location: It's at least 7 miles in either direction to find a restaurant. We rented bikes and did the trail over the bridge. Drive 15-90 mins to other Keys.
We stayed 6 nights. The facility is old and the shower is small. However, it is well maintained with a diligent staff. Most of the rooms are right on the water. It is great for a low key, shore-side retreat.

Small personal Paradise

Posted 24-Jan-2015
Pros: The surroundings
Cons: Barely nothing, maybe better wifi range or speed.
Location: water sports, snorkel, kayak, relaxing
My girlfriend and I chose Lime Tree because it was half way to key west from Miami. It was a great decision. We found it even better than pictures show. It is the most quiet and relaxing place I have ever been. For some people this can be an inconvenience as you feel you should whisper sometimes because of been so silent. It faces the gulf of mexico (2/3 of the hotel has direct waterfront views) where the water looks like a pool. It has plenty of chairs to lay down and relax watching the gulf, birds flying, fish jumping, etc. It has an amazing sunset which can be seen from every room. We stayed just for one night as we had to continue our trip to key west, but we would stay there much longer. Complimentary breakfast is good, with self service coffee jars, OJ, muffins, tea and other pastry. Internet is good, range could be better, but the aim of being there is disconnecting from your devices. Rooms are very confortable and spaciuous. With coffee makers, refrigerator, complimentary water bottles and a good spacious bathroom. Would recommend the hotel in a heartbeat.

Stopover on drive along Florida Keys

Posted 22-Jan-2015
Pros: Location Private beach Breakfast
Cons: Nothing except will be nice when restaurant reopens to save driving somewhere in the evening.
Location: Half way along the Florida Keys, good stop over. Not really suitable for children.
This was a great find for a stop half way on our fantastic drive along the Keys. Staff were helpful, room beautiful with relaxing rocking chairs on the patio which led to a private beach with hammocks, sun loungers and tables and chairs. Breakfast bagels, cream cheese and muffins, with coffee were available to take away and eat on patio or, as we did, on the beach. Room was nicely furnished, had coffee and coffee maker available and nice toiletries. Location is a little quiet and only restaurant nearby is closed for refurbishment but there is a shop across the road where we bought wine, beer, sandwiches and cake. Other restaurants are a few miles away and we had a nice meal at the Cuban Restuarant.
