Our trip to the Keys

Posted 26-Jul-2015
I loved the hotel, the view, the room, the pool, the grounds. All excellent. The only problem we had was our room was next to the road and the traffic was hard to fall asleep to and it woke us up around 6am - 7am every morning. We recommend requesting a room further off the main road, which they have many. Also we recommend going grocery shopping and bringing food to your room because restaurants are a bit of a drive away. There is an Italian restaurant next door, but it's not really want you want to eat in The Keys.

Nice location but very dusty from vehicle traffic

Amazing sunsets, we stayed at 112 the shower head was my chest high and toilet was kids size, I am 6 feet and could just barely fit in the shower, parking lot is very DUSTY and dirty. Place needs upgrading. Spend a little more and go somewhere else.

ROACHES

Posted 21-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness, responding to customers, exterminating the premises!!!
Location: Great restaurant called "Nowhere Bar and Grill", next to a great ice cream place called Savannahs sweets.
Staff was somewhat pleasant. The room seemed to be clean but the walls were paper thin and could hear the people next door thru them. This was the 1st night in FLA and straight from the airport. The next morning we left the resort, about a mile away I was looking in my backpack and a huge FLA roach scampered across the contents of the bag. I had my husband pull over and we went thru all of our bags. Found 2 total! Went straight to a laundromat. I have never been so disgusted! I emailed Lime Tree not once, but 2 times and they have ignored my complaints.

Cozy little hotel with the perfect sunset!

Posted 18-Jul-2015
Fun little hotel with the perfect spot to watch the sunset! Staff was nice, helpful and the room was comfortable. Nothing fancy but perfect for the half way mark on the drive to Key West! We would definitely stay here again. We didn't get in the water but the view was nice. Loved the hammocks!!! I would recommend bringing drinks, food, etc...there is only 1 little shop close to the hotel.

Run down resort with rude staff

Posted 17-Jul-2015
Pros: The view from our room was breathtaking. The price for such a large suite was very reasonable. The amenities are also enjoyable.
Cons: The continental breakfast didn't offer much. Bathrooms need updating. Housekeeping DEFINITELY needs improvement.
Location: Isolated location. Grocery stores and most restaurants are 20 mins away. Plan ahead and bring supplies beforehand or plan on making several trips.
My family and I stayed at Lime Tree Bay for several days in the Hemingway Suite. The pros of staying at the resort was that our suite was large, with a beautiful view. The amenities on property (paddle-boarding and boating) were enjoyable and relaxing. We also felt the price was good for the amount of space we had in our room. However, check-in was a nightmare. The woman at the front desk was not very friendly and we had to wait 2 hours to check in due to numerous overbookings and the long line of people checking in (with one clerk). The room was not clean when we arrived. And the maid didn't clean our room aside from making our beds our entire 3 night stay. We found a clump of hair in the shower (which doesn't have a soap holder, which is a little inconvenient). The floors left our socks dirty, there was a spill of something red in our fridge. Aside from this, the hotel is approx. 20 minutes away from grocery stores (except for a small mini mart which is HIGHLY overpriced), so plan ahead. The only restaurant nearby is the Italian restaurant next to the hotel - the food was good, but also on the pricey side. My family of 4 spent over $100 dollars on lunch. The continental breakfast was muffins and bagels. Not a horrible stay, but certainly not a place I would recommend (aside from the gorgeous views). I wouldn't recommend this

Paid too much for too little

Posted 12-Jul-2015
My family and I saw this place online. It looked beautiful from the photos. At the time, the Sea Grape Suite, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with private balcony was available. The description and photos looked like a slice of paradise. However, immediately, upon reaching my "private balcony" I was disappointed. It got worse as I entered the room. the first thing I noticed were the multiple rips & tears in the couch. At a glance, it reminded me of a ran down apartment. When I vacation, I'm looking to get a good value for my money. Whether or not I intend on spending much time in my room, I expect it to be clean and somewhat luxurious feeling. I was very disappointed by my room based on the photos and expectations I had from viewing online. The grounds were as beautiful as the pictures and the sunsets were as advertised. The pool area was small and crowded. As far as the area, there wasn't much around. Marathon and Islamorada, which were both approx 30 mins away, were the nearest areas for food and shopping. My next visit, I will definitely be looking to stay in Marathon. Overall, we made the best of a not so good situation.
