“great place to stay”

It was a great place to stay. It might not in the middle of things but with the shuttel it did not make a difference. I look forward to going back.

“Loved this hotel”

The hotel offers free shuttles on the hour to Duval Street. The drivers were extremely helpful and the staff friendly. Our room was fantastic and bed comfortable. We come to Key West a couple of times a year and will definitely stay here again.

“Beautiful hotel !!”

The Marriott Beach Side Hotel in Key West was wonderful. We had a king suit with a wonderful view of the Gulf of Mexico. The surrounding area felt secure and safe . Maid service was great, they cleaned our room and then came back again later and turned down our bed nightly and left chocolates on the bed. The pool bar was great. I would highly recommend this hotel to others !!

Area recommendations

Mallory square, Deval Street and the beautiful Marinas.

Dining

Dining in the area was great, wonderful, fresh seafood !!

“Very Nice”

Enjoyed the stay here. Room was beautiful and the staff was pleasent. Had dinner at restuarant on the premises. Wonderful time all around. A few little minor things that kept this hotel from getting 5 stars from me: - 17 dollars to park your car per day Getting food at the restuarant took unsually long. Called down for some extra towels and was put on hold for 5 minutes, had to hang up and call back a few minutes later. (forgotten?) Hotel is about as far from Duval street as you can get on the island, if thats where you're going (they offer free shuttle) Had such a wonderful time though that the little things didn't matter much.

“Not much of a beach”

The hotel has impeccable rooms and service but is certainly at a disadvantage when it comes to location. There are probably very few rooms with a decent golf view as most of the "A units" are facing an ugly building complex across the water. The view from the rest of the units (B, C) is even more terrible but the tragedy is that you have to live in the dark inside in case you want some privacy. A shuttle service to downtown is a brilliant idea as it avoids you the hassle of finding a parking spot in Key West but, at the same time, you will have to pay a substantial covered parking fee at the hotel for your own car.

“already planning next trip”

We were there on our honeymoon and both agree that the staff was wonderful.! they were there anytime we needed anything. They ran to open the doors, made us dinner reservations and one night even had the hotel private vehicle take us to dinner after the staff called and made us reservations and insisted that they give us a waterfront seat which they did! They even came back and picked us up after dinner! We have already decided that we don't want to stay anywhere else! Our room was leaned daily with fresh bottles of water in the room! We never had to ask for anything. The room was very clean, private and quiet! Don't have one bad thing to say ! Wonderful time!!!!!

Area recommendations

KINDA HARD TO ANSWER THIS THE ISLAND IS ONLY 4 MILES LONG BY 2 MILES WIDE!

When to go

We were told by locals that the best time to come to Key West was November to mid Janurary!

Getting around

Hotel Shuttle was very nice. It left on the hour every hour and would pick you back up in town at 20 min past every hour to return you. One driver his name is Ken was wonderful he would give you a tour while driving you! The shuttle was very clean also. There are also Taxis everywhere at reasonable fares

Must see

Lattitudes is a restaurant off of the Island . You go by boat for a very short ride to another private island. Although a bit pricey the food and service was awesome and the view is beautiful!

Dining

Lattitudes, La Travottia. Would not recommend Amigos off of Duvall Street the food was terrible!

Nightlife

We really liked Mickey T's. Too many places to mention!

“excellent service”

The room was clean and comfortable. The shuttle service provided by the hotel was a great selling point for this hotel. We never had to rent a car while we stayed here which was a great benefit. The pool was great with a view of the private beach. We will stay here again when we return to the island- highly recommend.

Getting there

Unless your going off the island, I would recommend a scooter or shuttle service. The entire island is 2 miles across and 4 miles long so finding a parking place for a car is often difficult and expensive. Most of the locals either use scooters or bicycles, or just walk. We walked everywhere and used the shuttle service primarily just to get back to the hotel. We did use a cab for one event we attended that was outside of the shuttle hours.

Must see

sunset celebration on mallory square- occurs every evening at sunset at the end of the island.

Dining

Everywhere we ate was good. We didn't have a bad meal while we were there, but plan to spend some money on food.

Nightlife

Duval Street is full of activity at night.

Outdoors or beach

Highly recommend the boat trip to Dry Tortuga's National Park. Also recommend the sunset cruises to the barrier reef. The sunset on the water is a memorable sight to see. We also saw some impressive sea life at the barrier reef- including shark, barracuda, giant stingrays, and lots of large fish! The national park provide top notch coral reef viewing because its a sanctuary and the fort wall reef is a sight to see! It was like swimming through a discovery show in high definition!
