Paradise!!

Posted 12-Oct-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: For the suite which are in the back of the property-(not sure why?)- there needs to be porter service, even if you drive you car and park under unit.
Location: Enjoyed the Full Moon Party every full moon.
Lush tropical greenery on the ocean transforms you to a place of tropical bliss. Our room was a phenomenal suite with soaking tub, extra living area, kitchen and a sensational king bed. Can't wait o go back!!! The food at their ocean front restaurant and cafe was also excellent and don't go away without trying the lobster sandwich. Amazing..... really amazing.

Impeccable!

Posted 11-Oct-2014
Pros: Everything.
Location: Great location, close to marinas, other restaurants, and only a couple of hours drive to Key West.
Impeccable grounds, super friendly staff, very accommodating every minute! Food was fabulous, but very pricey for the area. Service was top notch. Will definitely consider coming back again for a vacation.

Amazing sunrise....beautiful grounds

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Pros: Views, Location, Grounds, sunrises
Cons: Food should have been amazing but wasn't. I would have never left to eat if it was. It should have tied it all together but it was the one sore thumb.
Location: Snorkeling Cheeca rocks is a must, but watch out for the jellies. Robbies was fun and good guys to rent from. Sunrise.Sunrise.Sunrise...awesome
A near perfect rating for all area except Tiki Bar. The room was amazing and although we experienced a few burned out lights they were remedied quickly, perhaps a little better pre-arrival inspection from the engineering department. The coffee station in the morning was great right out the back door to the beach with plenty of loungers to sit and watch the sunrise. The pool was nice, although a bit shallow. Jacuzzi was nice and hot with good jets. Just wondering around the paths and seeing all the amazing vegetation was a nice relaxing past time after the day's activities. The pier was fun to walk out on at night and watch the moon shimmering on the water. The staff was very friendly except ...Tiki Bar I am Director of Food & Beverage at a nice hotel in Park City Utah, I am not picky but the service and food was very disappointing for the high caliber standard everything else was achieving. I first approached the bar to order a couple drinks for the room. After a few minutes a man sat next to me and the bartender immediately took his order. he actually even made eye contact with me twice before I said I needed a couple drinks and he said he would be with me in a minute. We came back later for some drinks and apps and the same really inattentive service. took three mentions to order food, kept being told give me a minute. The food was mediocre especially for the price. Mediocrity was the norm in Islamorada but I expected more, come on Chef...I am C.E. C. you can do better

Great w-k with the family; service can be better

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Pros: Our room (a suite with separate bedroom), activities included (fishing, kayaking, movierental), walking down the pier, free internet everywhere
Cons: Faster service in restaurant with no attitude (never saw a manager). Checklist for housekeeping with faster delivery of forgotten items
Location: many restaurants to choose from on Islamorada or small drive towards Tavernier (Cafe Moka, Midway Cafe). Tarpon feeding at Robbies
Relaxing and enjoyable for the whole family including our 5 yr old who fished for the first time. We also enjoyed the kayaking and otherwise mostly relaxed around the beach area (pool was too crowded) ordering drinks & snacks from there. We only had diner once at one of the restaurant but it took 1 hr for us to get our entree and another hr before we finally were able to leave. Food itself was very good but because of the slow service (not sure of this was caused by the kitchen) and the attitude when we pointed out mistakes (OJ for our son took 50' to arrive, wrong sides with the kiddiemeal) or "dared" mention that it was taking a long time (and other tables being served way before us)...would not eat there again. We also had a "discussion" about the winebottle we had ordered that could have been avoided. We did get an apology in the end with coffee/icecream on the house but by then it was too late. After that experience we had most of our other meals including b-f outside. We stayed in one of the suite which was very nice with separate sofa-bed for our son, fully equipped and a small walk to the beach. Watch an amazing sunrise Saturday morning. The only other bad experience was housekeeping. There were only 2 towels when we arrived and the next day only 1...we called and had to wait 40' for them to bring the 2 towels. By then it was too late to go out for our son. All other staff (@registration, concierge, amenities at pier) were great though.

Nice hotel great location

I had a great experience at the cheeca lodge. Facilities and staff were nice. The only suggestion that I would have is that the check in an out process should be more organized. Overall great time

Beautiful hotel

Posted 30-Sep-2014
We had a suite and it was very clean however, the toilet area was very small but overall I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly but the beach area could use a little cleanup from time to time.

Excellent resort stay

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: Excellent staff
Location: Fishing, water activities, fine restaurants and casual night life
The facilities are very nice, the tropical grounds are beuatiful and our room was exceptional. But the service was what put this famous old-Florida spot over the top. From the glass of champagne on checking in to the attentiveness of the waiters and the helpful suggestions of the bellmen, we always got just a little more than what was expected. Yes, you pay an additional "resert fee," which in general I find off-putting, but in this case we enjoyed golf, tennis, a shuttle to bars and restaurants and bicycles for a morning ride. Taxi costs alone would have made the "resort fee" a bargain. Finally, the staff at Cheeca Lodge really seem to enjoy their jobs - and that is priceless!
