We used to own a condo at Beacon Reef.

Pros: It was clean and the service was great.
Cons: Update the rooms.
Location: Location was great.
The only issue we had was with the rooms. We stayed in room 621. We felt the room was dated (1980's). Otherwise everything else was excellent.

Amazing resort!

My husband and I went on this mini vacation for 3 days and stayed at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa. We had a wonderful time and stayed in a 1 bedroom suite that overlooked the lagoon. I had a great prenatal massage in the spa. We played a round of golf that was included in the resort fee. We went fishing off the dock - rods were included and a big bag of bait only cost $10. Atlantics Edge had a good selection for the breakfast buffet and dinner was exceptional! Overall we had a great time and we can't wait to go back!

Probably the best in Islamorada, but lacking

Posted 12-Jan-2015
Hotel staff was not as accommodating as you would expect for price. Beach was small and rough, not sand you can 'stick your toes in' and worst part is you don't want to jump in the water, one because there is no easy entry, and two because the seaweed is thick. For how much you are paying, you would hope the staff would be very kind and helpful, wasn't the case. Concierge was never at the desk when we went to ask a question. Generally disappointing, but probably the best hotel in Islamorada from what we saw once we got there. If you are looking for beach and swimming in the ocean, go somewhere else in Fl. I don't fish but that seems to be what this hotel caters too. On recommendation of the hotel we went to the Theater By the Sea, which was kinda gross, water was super murky, the animals are in small enclosures and look sad and uncomfortable. The room was really nice, with oceanfront balcony and tub on balcony, but I realized when the maid service came through ,they didn't clean the tub, so if you plan to use it more then once, you have to clean it yourself.

Nice hotel close to beach and shopping.

Posted 10-Jan-2015
Pros: The grounds, very well maintained.
Cons: Elevator was out of service, hinges on cabinet doors need repair, fridge should have been defrosted , stairwells need a good cleaning
Location: Location great, close to shopping, fishing and restaurants
It was an enjoyable stay, it is more orinated towards families. A little too busy for couples. There is nothing special about the place considering the price charged.

Beautiful but Disappointing

Posted 06-Jan-2015
Pros: Nice setting and the availability of the par 3 golf course. Great gift shop and pools. Beach access was nice.
Cons: The bed comforter was old and lumpy. It should've been replaced or redistributed.
Location: Morada Bay café across street was wonderful. The chops along the main route were a short walk from the hotel. Shrimp shack was nearby and lots of fish
The hotel missed the mark with their level of service to lush environment. They lack the attention to details & discipline that a major chain might have in place. Our food orders were incorrect in some way at each meal. They did not answer their phone after 4 tries for room service on New Years Eve- at least should've responded to us in some way. We appreciated that the food servers were empowered to "comp" with free drinks or food each time the mistakes happened but it seemed to be their mode of operation which was disappointing. We were greeted with champagne & a fruit tray in our room when we arrived which was nice and they acknowledged the heavy traffic for guests who were arriving.
