“room choosen at last minute and we had no reall complaints.”

The young man that checked us in was great. He was local and suggested a place to eat off the beaten path that without the recomendation we would have turned around. Glad we did not foo was fantastic.

“For the price and the amminities you can't go wrong!”

We spent six nights at the Casa Del Sol Beach Resort the first week of November. The weather was perfect and the office personnel were very helpful in providing information about the area. Sombrero Beach (which is awesome!) was suggested since a severe storm had struck the area just prior to our arrival and the beach was not at its best. (It had been cleaned, but a pile of grass was still there) It didn't take away from the beauty. The palm trees and the breezes were enjoyed from the screened balconies morning and night! One drawback from Casa Del Sol that some may find is that it is directly on the road (hey- the Keys are narrow- what do you expect!?!) The room are on the back side of the hotel away from the road (our unit anyway) and with balcony doors shut you don't hear it. The units were bright and open and each room had a screened balcony (2 bedrooms and living room- so 3 individual balconies! )We had another bedroom that was on the road side. It was cheaper to get a 3 bedroom as opposed to the 2 because we wanted a king bed. ) We really enjoyed our visit and would definately go back again! Another bonus is that this area is pretty much the middle of the Keys so you are central to either end of the Keys. Anytime you can get away from the routine of daily life in November and sit under palm trees with 82 degree temperature and swim in crystal clear water is a great place to go!! Have fun!

“nice resort!”

was pleased overall with this resort stay. the only thing that i didnt like was the fact that there was hardly any lighting in the room and also no ceiling fans. so if ur ust to sleeping with a fan in your face you better bring one. also the beds were very uncomforatable. you would think the beds would be very nice for the price you have to pay. the private beach was ok but we came in just after a tropical storm so there was alot of seaweed and very smelly. the pool is shallow. only went to 5 feet.

“Great room, not so great beach.”

When we arrived to the location, the immediate reaction among all the guests was the horrid smell coming from the beach. When we looked towards the shore, the amount of seaweed and grass lying on the sand was disappointing. There were literally hills upon hills of it on the beach and there was no way of even walking to the water without stepping on it. The room was beautiful and spacious and very comfortable and the pool was great too, however, it's a shame that we had to go to another beach in the area rather than enjoying the beach provided to us by the hotel. Overall we are satisfied but if we return we hope that they can clean the beach properly, especially since we saw the machines used to clean the machines parked by the side, obviously neglected.

“I'd stay again...”

It was nice to have a full kitchen and two separate bedrooms. The unit could have been cleaner. Because it is run by the hotel next door, you don't exactly get regular hotel service. But the staff was great at finding and correcting an error that had been made on my bill.

“Dirty, Insect infested, no cleaning-slept on same sheets for 7 nights.”

Terrible. Remote..dirty, grounds were weeds and old boards infested with red ants and wasps. Kitchen had roaches.

“Get away from it all HERE”

Awesome. Stayed here several times and if you want a very comfortable, condo-like experience is a quiet place, this is perfect. Great beach (by Keys standards), killer accommodations (worth upgrading to Deluxe). Little to no guest services but that's the point; this isn't a full service hotel, it's a place for those who want to get away from it all and fix their own meals

“we'll be back”

Very convenient location especially for families with small children. Quiet, nice beach and clean pool, great view from rooms. Clean rooms, cleaning service every day with new towels. Friendly staff. 5 minutes to shopping center. Cons: broken ice maker in a fridge, but they gave us two bags of ice for free, lack of dishes, bad smell od sea grass at the beach. But we had great stay, definitely we'll be back.

“If you're on a budget and require no frills, this is your place”

I only stayed at this hotel overnight, and I was in town for business in a town where most people vacation. The appliances in the kitchen were modern and sleek-looking, but generally inexpensive at closer inspection and noisy. Many channels to select on huge LR TV, and screen porches off LR and BR were spacious and clean and I had a great view of the water & pool. The 2 bedroom TVs are tiny and old. The last occupant's bathing suit was still drying outside, lamps in LR did not work (neither of them), and the whole vibe was that of a tired old motel trying to dress up for the guests. The service at front desk was nice and helpful and rates were competitive and as stated online. Elevator old and kinda scary but working. Room was clean and towels fresh and in good condition. The management is probably doing the best they can with this place, but it looks sad from the outside, on the verge of the "no-tell motel" look. Lipstick on a pig is my best description! If staying on a budget with small children, this may be a great place. Otherwise, I'd skip it.
