Quiet and peaceful

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Cons: The menu at breakfast was somewhat limited
quiet hotel, ideal for relaxing after spending time walking round the tourist areas of Key West. Located far enough away to be out of the humdrum of the main tourist area

Great sunset view!

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Away from the main part of key west but easy acces.
Cons: Better breakfast selection.
Hotel is older, but was clean and comfortable. They had messed up our room reservations but quickly offered an acceptable upgrade for the evening at no charge. One room had broken AC and TV would not work, they told us how to fix the TV and it worked immediately and had the AC working in less than 10 mins. We enjoyed breakfast right on the water and saw a wonderful sunset from the same sight. Would come back again.

The hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Key West. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. There was a little beach sitting area with chairs and a hammock that provide a wonderful view of the sunset. The pool was nearby and clean. It is an adults only hotel but the one drawback during my stay was that many of the adults at the pool while I was there were loud. The "tiki bar" that is advertised in multiple places is not open or functioning and looks like it has been like this for years. It is a short 5-10 minute direct drive to Duval Street and is walkable in about 30 minutes. Overall, it was a wonderful location and atmosphere especially for the cost.

I reached hotel at 12:30 am. No body was there in the reception to help us except a security guy who gave us the key. There was no water and no ac . And also water was coming out of toilet. Whole night I was struggling and I did check out early morning and went to another hotel. That was a worst day for me..

We had a great stay, and will certainly rebook with this facility if we ever return to Key West.

Affordable Hotel for Key West

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: close to downtown, historic Key West; low-cost
Cons: Updated tv, and condition of the hotel
Location: It is about 1 1/2-2 miles to the downtown, historic area of Key West.
Overall, my partner and I had a nice stay at Banana Bay & Marina Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to do, where to go in KW, transportation options, etc. The hotel is off the beaten path (downtown KW) and only about 1 1/2-2 miles into the historic, downtown area. However, we found it too hot to walk, so we drove in. Parking is always challenging in KW, so be prepared! The room could use some updating (i.e., newer tv, a hair-dryer that actually worked), etc. but overall, the room was nice. It came with a mini-coffeemaker, 'fridge and microwave, which was great for us. The hotel itself was quiet and provided a pool, jacuzzi, gym, and a beachfront (no swimming). We were not there too long and did not use those amenities but I think it's great they're provided. They seemed to be in good condition as well. For some recommendations, the hotel definitely could use some updating all around. But overall, the hotel is a great deal and offers a nice stay if you are looking to keep costs down.

Pros: room decor, bay view
The grounds and accommodations are nice. However, the bathroom could use some remodeling. It doesn't go with the rest of the room. The front desk attendant was very pleasant and helpful. However, some of the other hotel staffmembers were not welcoming or pleasant at all. Level of hospitality should be much higher, especially considering the cost of the room.

Febreeze

Posted 09-Jun-2014
Pros: Price good.
Cons: Air conditioners does not properly cool the room. More emphasis on clean the counter where microwave is kept to keep away rodents.
Location: Drove to where I needed to go. Glad it is located away from the bustle of the town.
Only need one night in Key West and it was the most reasonably priced place to stay. Came prepared with my own rags, pillowcases and a bottle of Febreeze based on reviews I read. Didn't need the pillowcases but should have also brought a spray for the roach. I think I still got one of the better rooms.

Nice hotel

Lindo hotel. Un poco viejito. Le faltaría una renovación. Pero safa!
