“Good for what we needed.”

The room is a bed and bathroom. It was away from the bars and touristy noise. Close to public beach. Hot tub could have been hotter for the season. We were out before breakfast was served. Hard to see from street due to lack of sign and landscaping. Good for what we needed.

“Quaint and serene lil bed and breakfast :-)”

This lil bed and breakfast was very quaint. I would recommend the cottage they have because everything is very quiet in the main house. The only thing I was uncomfortable/unsure about is they leave your name/keys in the mailbox for check in if you come after about 4pm. That's very unsecure in this day and age yet as long as this lil area remains safe, I guess it's not really that big of a deal. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I would prefer to stay there again if I return to Key West. Not to mention, the continental breakfast was so serene. The hostess made me feel comfortable unlike some places. Good job!

Area recommendations
The whole area where we stayed was great. Walking distance (less then 5 city blocks/15 min. walk) from the "strip"
When to go
Make sure you get to the hotel early if you need anything and don't want to be a bother because there is only someone on site for a few hours before 4pm I think.
Getting there
Getting all the way to Key West is longer than you think. Traffic was backed up for hours because of the 2 lane highway. So keep in mind and add a few hours if you want to get there at a decent time.
Must see
The Southernmost point is a 15 min. walk from this bed and breakfast!

“Great Location, Great Price, Great Hotel”

This is a charming hotel that seems like it was a former mansion of sorts. There are only a limited number of rooms but we didn't have a problem snagging a room. We ended up getting a suite on the top floor, which actually turned out to be a great value. Our room was enormous as we had a bedroom, living room area, and kitchen area. Everything is very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. We slept really well on the giant king bed. Breakfast was simple with toast, bagels, yogurt, milk, juices, etc and the staff is very friendly. It seems to be a sort of family operation and they work hard to make sure the guests are comfortable and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
Key West is small enough so check it all out. That said, while Key West is not very large, the length of Duval St is surprisingly long. It'll take a good 20-30 minutes to leisurely walk the length so just be prepared. Otherwise, quite simply, it's Key West! Beautiful everything so enjoy!
Getting there
If you have the time and opportunity, drive down from Miami. It's well worth driving once as it's a beautiful drive over blue waters with pockets of islands.
Getting around
We had a rental car and parking was easy (probably because it was low-season) but we ended up walking everywhere within Key West. Duval St (and the parallel Whitehead St) is longer than it seems but a nice walk. If you're in a hurry (why would you hurry in Key West?), a taxi ride is quick and easy or rent a bike or a scooter.
Nightlife
Key West has a very hopping nightlife any time of the week pretty much. There's something for everyone so it's hard to recommend one place for everyone. I can just say that we enjoyed a very nice seafood dinner and after-dinner drinking/hanging out at the Conch Republic (631 Greene St, Key West, Florida 33040). If you have a chance, try out Blue Heaven Restaurant and let us know but according to reviews online and when I asked local people, it is THE restaurant to try. We couldn't try it as they were closed for the season and on vacation so be sure to check if you're going in the off-season.

“A must for the easy going traveler!”

My fiance and I are laid back, casual and do not need a lot. Especially when we are on vacation in a place that begs for you to be walking around outdoors. That being said, An Island Oasis was wonderful. The small quaint room was not only cute and comfy, but had everything we needed and more. Microwave, microfridge, queen sized bed, TV, coffee maker, even a small personal fan if we needed - plus a personal bathroom. The breakfast served every morning outside was a great way to start the day and talk about the adventures we would have. Every time we would return for the day our room was picked up, bed made, and cleaned (even though I usually don't think this is necessary, it was very nice).

Area recommendations
Anywhere near Duval St. An Island Oasis is in a particularly nice spot because its only 3 blocks from the Southernmost point, and 2 from Duval. We especially liked that we were on the more 'quiet' end of Duval. We could walk up the street for shopping and sightseeing, reach the northern part for bars and partying, and then have a nice quiet walk home to relax and go to bed.
Getting around
WALK WALK WALK! Its easier to take in the city that way. Also, the bus route is really convenient for getting to and from the airport at a great price. We were only in one cab but the driver was really friendly and the rates good.

“My new "favorite place to stay" in Key West”

I absolutely loved the quaintness of this B&B. The gardens made me feel like I was in my own back yard. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Great location. Everything is in walking distance. Was only home for 8 days when I scheduled our next visit.

“A nice place to stay”

This was a very nice B&B, I would definately stay here again. The room was very nice and well kept, the owners were also very sweet and acomodating. There is a small courtyard witha jacuzzi, it's not heated (it doesn't need to be) but the jets work. It's a nice way to cool down on a hot day. The breakfast wasn't great, just bagels, cereal and coffee/juice, but I've stayed at another B&B there that served a similar breakfast, so maybe it is a Key West thing. The walk to the busy part of Duval is a bit long, so if you don't like walks, this probably isn't the place for you. There is a bicycle rental close that you get a discount on for staying at this B&B though, and that would probably be a better option for you. Also, there a re a few restaurants and bars near by. This area was very nice and quiet, all in all, a great stay.

“OK Bed and Breakfast”

The room was very nice. The most disappointing thing was the breakfast. Nothing home-made. The fresh fruit was tasty, but instant oatmeal and store bought bagels and donuts were not what I expected.
