The Cabana Inn is a collection of historic buildings, each containing one or two private guest quarters, with a pool, hot tub, patio area with chaise lounges and open-air beds, all enclosed within a large, private fence, making it a peaceful paradise that is only seconds from busy Duval Street. A well-appointed complimentary continental breakfast buffet is served each morning to guests. Each evening there is a free wine and cheese for guests to mingle and meet or just sit with your partner under the palm trees. It is all adult, so a break from the kids. Swim in the pool, soak in the hot tub, wander the small garden with fountain and turtle pond. Step outside and Willie Ts, Margarittaville, Aqua Lounge, Cowboy Bills and all the party bars of Duval are right there. The best of both worlds! Some rooms have full kitchens or just a fridge and microwave.
6 days in Key west. e dont like large courpporate run Hotel and this was perfect. lots of couple flew in from the local airport but we drove from Miami in the obliquatory Mustang. we wanted somewhere with charater and charm and that just what we got. and being just on Duval strett made it possible to walk eveywhere. we would most defiintly go back.

Key West is extremely expensive to visit. The room I rented ("Coral Cove") turned out to be an efficiency condo, with frig, sink in kitchen area, outdoor awesome gas grill, full cutlery, plates, etc . - basically it was a small apartment for less that an average Key West hotel room price. I was at a small conference, and talking to others who stayed at guesthouses and big name hotels, my room was at least as large as theirs, and larger in some cases. It was immaculately clean, and beautifully painted and appointed. There was free parking, on the street, which is a huge plus in Key West. The neighborhood is called Bahama Town, where historically the Bahamian folks lived - it still has this flavor but is cool, and authentic Key West. My condo was only three blocks from Duval, and two blocks from Whitehead (where the Hemingway house is). Key West Vacation rentals has rooms and condos scattered throughout the city, not just in this area. My only complaint is that the mattress on the bed was not comfortable. I plan to request this room specifically and return to Key Wes for a few days to hang out and enjoy the art galleries some more.
Our experience at the Almond Tree Inn in Key West was OUTSTANDING. Staff were friendly, helpful, welcoming. We felt "at home" immediately. Our room was amazing! Beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and super comfortable. Tons of thoughtful details like robes, face wash, super soft towels, soaps and shampoos...I could go on and on! Internet service was included as well as a delicious array of breakfast foods in the morning. Bed was super comfy - slept like a baby. In our suite we had a refrigerator and microwave. The pool looked great but it was rainy and cold when we were there. We wish we could have stayed longer and definitely hope to return for a longer stay in the future. It is probably the best hotel stay I have ever had. It looks small from the road, but don't let it's size deceive you - it is jam-packed with goodness! The location is great as well - close to all the action on Duvall Street. I highly recommend a stay at the Almond Tree Inn!!

"Very Nice 4 star hotel on private beach Key West"
We had a beautiful cottage on the private island. Cottage was swanky and beds were big and terrific. Grounds included a quiet and lovely beach and great pool as well. Which is very rare for Key West. The only other sand beach we saw was a big public beach that really required a rent a car to access. The hotel restaurant was nice but too pricey for my taste for Dinner Hour - most entrees were $30 +- Lunch was more reasonable
Ambrosia is a well kept and pleasant place to stay in Key West old town. Easy walking distance to bars, restaurants and sights. The staff were nice and the rooms clean and comfortable. A hot/cold breakfast is served outdoors in tropical courtyard.
