“A pleasant place to stay”

We booked for two nights. We were initially put in an annex room, which was below expectation, despite booking a classic room for 2 adults + 1 child. However, when we asked for another room we were offered a superb room with view over the valley. Restaurant has very good but smallish menu, we tried the taster menu that was excellent. Wine list either house -very good at 18euros or next price 50euros.

“Stupendously beautiful”

This place is a hidden gem! Granted it was hard to find (thus, it was "hidden"), but oh so worth it once you made it up that winding road. We had rented a car to drive through northern Italy, so we didn't feel the need to stay in the city (Florence). The area is beautiful, and the view from the pool down into Vecchio is spectacular. The restaurant was expensive, but truly a gourmand's delight (pretty much everything contained olive oil, including dessert!). Our room was such a relief after staying in cramped quarters near Venice, for more money to boot, Villa Campestri was like an oasis, and it was HUGE. If I travel to the area again, I would definitely stay there. Two nights was not enough!

“Lovely Italian Country Hotel”

Excellent hotel in 400 year old farmhouse. Friendly people, good morning breakfast included. Great mountain views. Excellent (but expensive) restaurant in the hotel. It is on top of a mountain so getting there is a little tricky but it is well worth the trip. A great way to visit Florence since the hotel is only 1 hour by train from downtown Florence and you don't have to deal with parking or traffic. Highly recommend

“Excellent hotel”

The hotel is high on a hill above a beautiful valley. It is more like a family country manor house set in fabulous grounds with a swimming pool. We were in the main building (there appears to be an annexe) and the bedroms were vast and furnished with beautiful antique furnitre. Charming staff. Good restaurant although menu not extensive and very few alternatives in the vicinity. Fabulous wines. Produce their own olive oil. Would recommend for peaceful short break. Families welcomed.

“nice friendy hotel”

really enjoyed our stay here for 6 days. Owners very friendly and helpful with advice etc . only drawback is that the Hotel is a little bit away from the maim tuscan sitesso needed a bit of driving to get to except Florence itself which can be easily reached by train from Vicciho . If peace and quite required can really recommend .

“Superb Location”

The villa is set in a beautiful location in the hills of Tuscany just above the village of Vicchio. The villas accomodation is split betwen the main villa and several converted farm buildings, depending on what you book. Our room was in a seperate block of two accomodations. The room was of a very good size with high natural wooden ceilings and a large bed. Matress was a bit on the hard side can could probably be due for replacement. Bathroom was impressive and looked as if it had recently been refurbished. Room comes with a minibar and small LCD TV. All in all a comfortable location as a base for roaming Tuscany.

“Ask for a good room”

Our 1st night was spent in a pokey minute room, which didn't have any view & was dark plus unbearably hot. We couldn't change until the next night - we still got charged the full rate eventhough we said it was an awful room & we were dissatisfied. The room we were in was not representative of the rooms displayed on the expedia web-site. We had to pay more to move - however the room we were move to was lovely. Grounds & location are spectacular. Showers are irritatingly small.

“Great location but food not up to expected standard”

The hotel has a great ambience and location, but the quality of the food does not match the general standard of the hotel. Rooms are not air conditioned and can be uncomfortably hot in mid summer. Staff very friendly
