“Just the Right Place”

This excellent hotel is perfectly placed for a few days' sightseeing in Florence. A few yards from the foot of the Ponte Vecchio, south-bank Florence bustles all around it. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby - some try to rip you off, but most are determined to give you the best local produce as cheaply as they can. The hotel is everything that you need; the staff are friendly and professional and breakfast on the sixth-floor terrace with views over the city is the best possible start to the day.

“Pitti Palace is the PERFECT location to anywhere in Florence..”

I simply loved the Pitti Palace hotel.. every morning I could just walk across the famous Ponte Vecchio to any of the sites within 15 minutes. as a solo traveler, I felt safe and there are shops nearby for gelato and delicious pizza ... the view from the breakfast room was wonderful too-- looking right on the Duomo. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next stay in Florence. Magnifico!

“florence for artlovers”

Perfect for all the sites. Rooms are small, immaculate. For the capital of Renaissance art the hotel could do better when choosing art for the bedrooms! Fabulous view from rooftop restaurant. On Tuesday evenings, during the summer months the Uffizi gallery(great cafe/view) stays open till 9.30pm. Perfect time to go. Private evening tours of the Corridoio Vasariano, hefty fee but a fantastic experience. Go to the Pitti first thing in morning for an unrestricted view & the gardens are perfect for a picnic. At the Accademia the only thing worth seeing is Michelangelo's David but book in advance or you will find yourself in a queue for a few hours. A copy is in the Piazza della Signoria where there are lots of other significant sculptures. Best meal was at the Savoy hotel/Piazza della Republica (expensive but worth it). Good place to people watch in the evening is on the Piazza della Signoria outside the Rivoire where you can admire the grandeur of the town hall & listen to the buskers. Good coffee & fabulous chocolates. During the afternoon try Paszkowski on Piazza della Republica which serves good coffee, excellent creme caramel & cakes but avoid the cocktails which are overpriced & poor. If you want cocktails avoid the tourist trap of Harry's Bar (the original is in Venice) and go to the 5 star hotel bars or Hemingway a trendy (young) cafe with light meals & good cocktails on Piazza Piattellina in Oltrano.

“Ideal location”

This hotel provided all that you need for a city break. Location perfect, clean, nice firm bed, rooftop bar/breakfast area has stunning views and not aware of noise from street. Room was small which might be an issue if you intend to spend a lot of time there, but who goes to Florence to stay in. We would definitely stay there again if returning to Florence.

“Would definitely recommend this hotel”

This hotel is brilliant! The location is absolutely perfect being central and situated right at the end of the Ponte Vecchio where the atmosphere is buzzing all the time. We were within easy walking distance of all of Florence's main attractions as well as near to the station where you can get pretty cheap tickets to places nearby such as Pisa and Sienna. The service bus from the airport to Florence centre is cheap, quick and on time to the minute (every 30 mins) and the hotel is a 15 minute walk from the station (and this was pulling suitcases through the busy streets). Hotel has great views from the dining/bar area and is clean, friendly and excellent value. Breakfasts are great with a good selection of different foods and staff cannot do enough to help. All in all we would not hesitate to go back to this hotel or recommend this hotel to others.

Staff were very friendly and helpfull and spoke good english. Location was very good next to the Ponte Vecchio. Some noise at night from outside but not unacceptable. Bathroom was a little small, but room was very comfortable and clean. Good value for money.

“perfect location”

The hotel could not have been in a more perfect setting sitting only yards from the ponte vecchio. The breakfasts kept us going all day long and even though I am coeliac I had plenty of choice, the waiters even toasted some pancakes I brought myself. Plenty of fruit and coffee as much as you could eat and friendly staff. The room was more than adequate the bed was a little on the hard side but didn't stop us from getting a good nights sleep. The double glazing kept out the traffic noise. The tv could have had more channels but we didn't come to Firenza to watch tv.The bathroom was clean and well suplied with shampoo, moisturiser, bedroom slippers, all changed daily. There was a mini bar and safe. The staff were without exception very polite and welcoming. We would definately use this hotel again and would recommend it to all our friends. We walked for hours around this most beautiful of cities and this Hotel was the perfect place to end your day. If you can get a cheap flight go to the best city in the world and stay in this hotel you will not be disappointed.

“Fantastic location!”

The breakfast terrace was a real highlight - looking across the roof-tops of Florence towards the Cathedral. The location of the hotel at the south side of the Ponte Vecchio was idyllic. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

“Good hotel... would definately go back”

Absolutely perfect location on the end of Ponte Veccio, walking distance to everywhere and oposite stop 21 of the hop on hop off bus green line. Service impecable in the reception, bar and restaurant (I stay in hotels 100+ nights per year so can be a little picky!) and the terraces on the roof gave a fantastic view across to the Duomo. The rooms are typical Italian, small(ish) compared to USA brands such as Holiday Inn, but perfectly adequate. (We had a king-size bed) Higher floors have balconies, but the views are limted due to the narrow streets and 'olde worlde' charm of florence. Other reviews have commented that this hotel is noisy... THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. at least in our room (5th. floor) and we had no noise whatsoever, very peaceful.. even my wife who is a very light sleeper commented on this. I suspect it depends where in the hotel you are sited as it is very bustling, tourist area outside. Decor is a little tired in places, but for me it just added to the charm. All in all I would certainly recommend a stay here.
