“Great hotel in Florence”

Our room was ready as soon as we arrived. The room was clean and spacious enough to accomodate our luggage comfortably. The bathroom was well-equipped and we didn't have any issues with the facilities. Our favorite part was breakfast. There was a great set-up for each table so that we got a selection of pastries, fruits, cereal, etc and it was topped off by a kind old man who brought us each juice and coffee at our table. He was so sweet that the second morning he remembered my coffee order from the morning before and I threw him by asking for something different! It was also nicely located so that we could see everything in Florence in easy walking distance. It was also conveniently located for the train station. I would recommend some additional navigation directions because the street has an odd numbering system and we had to ask locals for assistance.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Nuova Italia hotel, our thanks go to owners and all the staff, for making our stay so enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble.Location is excellent with good restaurants within easy walking distance.We would highly recommend Nuova Italia, and we will back.

We were first time travellers from a small place in Canada on our honeymoon, so Italy could have been a bit overwhelming at times. However the staff at this hotel were great - very helpful and willing to answer any question. Some of them were even hilarious and helped us with our Italian. We felt totally at ease staying there. We were very satisfied with our room - it was cute and clean. The location was great - within walking distance from the train station as well as the Academia Museum (home of the David) and the Duomo as well as other attractions and shopping. The breakfast was simple (croissants, buns, cereal, yogurt, cappuccino) but it was perfect. Would definitely stay there again if (hopefully when) we go back to Firenze!

“Hospitable and personable staff! Clean.”

Family owned and operated. Hospitable and very personable. Breakfasts were excellent and especially the cappucino! Bathroom was excellent as was the location (short walk to/from train station and the key sites to see in Central Florence. Only drawback was no elevator and we were on the third floor. Not a big deal for us but could be for someone else.

“Great Location, Great Price”

Nuova Italia is a great hotel. Not only is it well-located (a few blocks from the train station, and mere blocks from the Duomo and other Florence sites), it was a great rate for similar properties within Florence. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly, and the breakfast service was the best I encountered in Italy. They had a sign behind the counter that said "Just Ask" which summed up their service. The staff spoke excellent English, and were really helpful. The only thing that I found a little weird was the shower set-up, because the shower was divided from the rest of the bathroom by a mere shower curtain, and the bathroom would get soaked after a shower. We were on the second floor, and there is no elevator, but it wasn't too much of a hardship for us. I highly recommend this property.

“Charming and convenient”

It's a great hotel for its price. I got a single room with a bath/comfort room of its own. The room was very basic but very clean, so no complaints there. There's Wifi in the room too, albeit a bit slow but good enough for checking emails and planning your itinerary. It's in a very safe and strategic location too--close to the Firenze SMN station and the mercato. The best part about the hotel I must say is the service. The signora who runs the reception is very nice and accommodating. And the grandfather who mans the reception and breakfast every morning is simply charming. There's not much variation in the breakfast but you will definitely get your fill. Great place!

“Awesome location”

We really enjoyed staying at Nuova Italia. It has a great location to the train station and to the major attractions. It was quiet off the major streets and the staff was very nice and helpful.

“Friendly, small hotel in good location”

Very friendly staff - coped with our lack of Italian! Street too noisy to have the windows open at night, but air conditioning very effective. Central location just right for an early start home.

“Your basic Florence hotel”

The Hotel Nuova Italia is a basic, no frills hotel in Florence. The rooms were comfortable. There is a nice breakfast included with coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, croissants, etc. The staff was very friendly, especially the gentleman who worked over night. The location was good. We actually walked from the train station with our luggage. It wasn't too hard to find, just head up via Nazionale till you get to Via Faenza. Florance is a great walking city, and we were easily able to walk to all the sights from the hotel. Several things to keep in mind about this hotel: There is no elevator, so you will be carrying your bags up, but there are only 2 floors above the ground floor, so it's not too bad. Second, the area around the hotel is very active at night...bars, restaurants, etc. This is great for when you want something to do by the hotel, but bad once you want to go to bed. We had a room that faced Via Nazionale and it was noisy all night....drunk people were very loud. Make sure to close the windows tight to keep the sound out. Lastly, there is no tub, just a shower. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Nuova Italia. We might look for something a little nicer though if we were back in Florance again.
