“Great place to stay!”
Upscale hotel, good price. A short walk to duomo, piazza signori a. Away from the crowds. Great breakfast!
“Wonderful hotel”
An absolutely beautiful hotel, with a very nice staff. It's only down side is it's a bit off the beating path, but if you like to walk, its no problem. Very elegant furnishings, and very quite. Nice romantic hotel as well. Would go back and stay again.
“Great 5 star hotel in a quiet section of Florence.”
This is one of the best hotels in which we have ever stayed. There is nothing that we did not like about the Hotel Montebello Splendid!
“Wonderful hotel, but too far walking to the main sightseeing areas.”
Pretty hotel with clean and nice size rooms for Italy. We found walking to the main sightseeing attractions a far walk. We tried to see the city in two days which meant we were on our feet in the museums, churches and gardens all day. We came back each evening to shower before going back to the main area for dinner. Walking almost a mile there and back twcie a day made this hotel a deal breaker for a future stay. Also our air conditioner made funny sounds intermitently. They did offer to change our room, but we decided changing wasn't worth the work after having a long day seeing this great city with all it has to offer. The one plus for location is it was easy to get to the train station rolling our luggage.
“Too many stars!”
We hade arrived in Florence for our second stint. We hade visited several hotels in Florence and surrounding area of various classes (star). The Montebello Splendid is near the center. On the surface the hotel is stiking but the service is second rate, the facilities (restaurant and fitness area) were second and third rate respectively. While the rates for a 5-star hotel were reasonable, I would say the rates were expensive for a 3½ star hotel (comparing to hotels in Florence and in the near vicinity). If your are expecting an upper rate hotel go somewhere else. We do not recommend this hotel.
“cozy and classy”
A very nice hotel in a quite area
“Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city!”
The Montebello Splendid was a stunning hotel in a fantastic, quiet part of Florence. All of the staff were polite and very attentive. I quickly became accustomed to sitting in the sun having drinks brought to me after a busy day touring the city. It was a shame to have to leave and get back to work. If you do go to Florence you have to go to an amazing restaurant, Il Profeta, that the hotel staff recommended to us. No word of a lie...the food was the best we've ever had!!! The waiter was great, again very attentive without getting in your face too much, and the wine was excellent. If we make it back, we going here for sure!
“Amazing Spot to Stay in Florence”
The Montebello was a great spot to stay during our time in Florence. It's not exactly in the center of all the action but that is what's so nice about it. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It's a very simple 10 minute walk from the hotel into where all the great sites are. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Have a drink in the courtyard one evening before heading out for dinner. P.S. Just down the street there is a fantastic coffee bar to stop and get your morning epsresso and cornetto on the way into town to go see the Duomo or the David!
“love this hotel!”
Hotel staff was outstanding ; The room I was given was bright and sunny I loved it it was very quiet and overlooked a beautiful courtyard. My entire stay was a pleasure. The hotel is set back a ways from the center of Florence but we found it to be avery pleasant 15-20 min walk to what every we wanted to see or do. I was looking for someplace that would be nice and Quiet and we had the Breakfast buffet with our package and that was just delightful. Really a first class place I would Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who dose`nt mind not being in the center of town. I plan to stay there again ( hopefully) on my next visit to Florence.
“Loved this hotel”
Beautiful, comfortable room. The location was perfect - on a very quiet street only a 10 minute walk from everything. While a bit reserved, the staff was helpful. WiFi was only free for 1/2 hour, and the number of devices you can connect is limited which was an issue for us with our multiple iPhones and iPads. Would definitely stay here again.
