Great location. No staff to carry oir luggages

No elevator from 3rd to 4th floor, so we had to carry by ourselves the luggages. No hot water enough but location amazing and quiet room.

great staff

I loved my stay at Maxim! The staff were extremely kind and helpful (Chiara is fantastic). Being that we were only there for a couple of days and didn't really plan well, Chiara did everything she could to make reservations for us at the Accademia. She eventually got us one but it was too late, as we had already planned on leaving that day. The other staff members were helpful too. The room we had was perfectly fine. I'm not really that picky. As long as the place is clean, I'm good. Overall, it was a great stay and would recommend it to anyone. Very close to all the main attractions too.

Great location

We loved the location. It was close to all sights, we walked everywhere. Noisy at night due to street performers, but quiet by 11:30 pm. Great breakfast.

Location, Location, Location

We weren’t sure about staying in a two-star, but Maxim pleasantly surprised us. It is just steps from the Duomo and a few blocks from the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio. It was a bit like going to grandma’s house; everything was neat and clean with an assortment of beautiful furniture and artwork in the lobby and hallways and less exciting, functional furniture in the rooms. Some of the furniture and fixtures in our room had obviously been broken and repaired with love—why throw something out if it is still functional? The towels were large like beach towels which is not often the case when travelling. There was a small, older TV in the room which we didn’t have time to watch during our stay, but we did return to the hotel to watch the World Cup on the big-screen TV in the lobby with other guests. There are no refrigerators in the rooms but a large honour-bar in the lobby where you can find cold water and soft-drinks 24/7. The hotel offers wi-fi but also has 3 stand-alone computers in the lobby for guests to use with a 15-minute limit. The breakfast was your standard buffet with warm croissants, cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit and juice (the only thing missing was a little protein: eggs, meat, cheese, etc.). A machine was available for you to make your own coffee, cappuccino, or hot chocolate. There are also umbrellas in the lobby for guests to borrow. Lorella at the reception desk is just lovely and extremely helpful.

Ideally located

Hotel is centrally located, walkable to all major attractions which was a major plus. The hotel room is decent, nothing fancy here, ideal for someone looking for a B&B kinda hotel which is in a good location.

There is no better location!

The location for this hotel couldn't be better - it is 2 minutes from the Duomo and less then 5 from the Palazzo Vecchio. All of the main tourist sights are within walking distance and the train and bus stations are only about 15 minutes away. The room was great - nothing fancy but certainly comfortable. The bathroom was small and the shower & toilet old and a little temperamental, but perfectly functional. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great - cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads and pastries. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel and plan to return there myself in the future.
