The worst choice of hotel I have ever made

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Nothing
Location: It is close to all the attractions in Florence. Very noisy at night since it is in one of the main Piazzas.
Very Overpriced rooms. Far from train station, it is not within walking distance, especially if you have luggage. Staff very rude. Poor, very poor selection and quality of breakfast, basically not fresh pastries. Dirty room and bathroom. No basic services like TV and the facility to open the dark wood window. The hotel is located in the fourth floor of a building with no sign with the name of the hotel. Small cage elevator to get to the fourth floor. Hotel is popular for receiving large groups of teenagers from the USA, therefore is very crowded in the small lounge in the mornings and noisy at night. Room very small with thin and old pillows. No WIFI. I regretted and understood why my reservation was non-refundable.

Love the Location

Posted 08-Jul-2014
We drove through Europe this summer. Parked in a lot and took the tram to the train station and walked about 10 minutes to the hotel. This hotel is in a perfect location and we walked everywhere and saw everything we wanted to in Florence! Wifi was a little odd in that only one device at a time could log on at a time and each person/device had to disconnect and log out and then the next person could get on. We paid 5 euros for 4 hours of internet and it was enough for our stay. Beds and pillows could be more comfortable...flat and hard. And yes, bathrooms could use a remodel, but we made it work and were so tired each day it was nice to not have far to walk to crash for the night. I would stay here again and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and breakfast was good. No, it's not a 5 star hotel, but few are in Europe unless you really want to pay and it's not worth it when you are not actually in the room that much. I would definitely recommend to a friend and a friend had recommended it to me because of the location.

Hotel Olimpia - "Excellent price and location"

Posted 28-Jun-2014
Pros: Location, Location, Location.
Cons: for the price nothing.
Location: Excellent every thing is nearby we did not have to walk far.
Hotel Olimpia is set in the middle of Florence close to all the main attractions. There are numerous restaurants within a stones throw of the hotel and even more shops. You cannot fault this hotel, for the price you get everything, a great breakfast, very friendly staff and a clean room with comfortable beds. Would stay there again.

Awesome location

Posted 08-Jun-2014
Pros: Location, location - it's a room with a view!
Cons: Be aware of the bathroom, but it isn't a show stopper.
Location: It is central florence!
Awesome location in Florence's Piazza del Republicca. The rooms were old but clean. The only minor issue was the shower in the bathroom, which had terrible water pressure andvrequired pulling the shower curtain across a small corner of the bathroom. this meant that we had to and wipe down the bathroom after each shower. A first world problem really and well worth it to stay in a hotel in this location for the price.

Amazing location.. very central !!!

Posted 02-Jun-2014
Pros: Location
Location: Literally everything is just a 5 to 10 minutes walk away including the train station, leather market, David statue, the famous bridge, and much more.
The hotel is very central and just a walk away from the train station and the main attractions. The hotel is in front of one of the main plazas, so you can just have dinner downstairs and enjoy the view of Florence. The staff was super friendly. We arrived to Florence in the morning and they kept our bags until check in time and allowed us to use the restroom (usually you pay to use the restroom everywhere). We kept coming back to the hotel to drop our bags and use the restroom the whole time because it was just too convinient to do so.

Good location and nice views

The location was perfect - very central and easy walking distance from train station. Some minor issues eg no plug and slow draining bathroom sink but otherwise fairly comfortable.

Excellent location

It was a great trip with loads of great food - gelato - shopping and ofcourse not forgetting all the lovely and interesting places of interest, all at walking distance and easy reach from each other. You can't ask for a better location to be in and therefore pay for it as the hotel / room is very definitely not worth the rate. But then again it is just a place to sleep in. Breakfast is conveniently basic for those who need their coffee fix when waking up and before heading out for the day. Enjoyed the trip to the max :-)
