“Great place to stay in the center of Florence”
Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco is very well located within easy walking distance of all the Duomo and the galleries. Clean, comfortable, good value. Good breakfast and WiFi worked perfectly. Staff were very friendly and helpful, enhancing our wonderful Florence experience.
“Florence”
The first day I was given a very small room with a 3 foot wide bed on the first floor, the window view was ........the dinning room. After complaining on the second day I was moved to a not so small room with a bed about 5 foot wide. The window view was .... and interior area.
“Excellent hotel; can't wait to go back.”
Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco is conveniently located only a couple of blocks away from Duomo, Galleria dell'Accademia, and is within walking distance from the train station. Although there is a McDonald's right next door at the street corner, you probably will never find chance to use it, as the continental breakfast included with the stay is more elaborated than many others have to offer, and there are plenty of good restaraunts around Duomo. We have a family of four with two teen agers; we were pleasantly surpprised by the excellent size of the room and the large, clean, well-appointed bathroom. The hotel is housed in a historical-looking building; the rooms have very high ceilings; our room has traditionally carved wooden ceiling panels; the room and the closet are all decorated with carved wood panel doors; a wooden bar with a marble counter top separates the main sleeping area from the sitting/extra bed area, where a flora arrangement decorates the table. A block away towards Duomo is a big out-door market, where you can bargain-hunt for sourveniors or refill your beverage supply at the grocery. Overall, the location is great, an easy stroll to any of the main attractions in Florence; in the evening you may hang out at the Piazzas around Duomo, as they are only a few steps away; the room is of high quality, you probably wont' find many 3-star hotels at this quality; what we enjoyed the most, of course, is that staying in this hotel do make us enjoy Florence more.
“Florence sept 2011”
The people at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and plentiful, if your are willing to do without omelletes, scrambled eggs, etc. The A/C was working not working as expected, but it was adequate. It cooled the room somewhat. If the weather would have been hotter, we might have had a problem or requested to change rooms. The location is excellent.
“two out of five is about right. Good and helpful staff but room was very disappointing .”
Two and a half star Liked: staff - nice and helpful, breakfast - ok Didn't like: the room, the stone stairs down to our bathroom, the general amateur feel of the ground floor bar/ restaurant area, the very loud air conditioning, the radio masts outside our window, the shower fitments not working properly, the varying temperature of the water, the price for what we got. We will not return.
“Great Place”
Very friendly staff, awesome location, 1 Block from David (just enough away from hussle and bussle, but still close to everything) great breakfast spread with beautiful outdoor dining garden. Clean and so quiet. Would stay there again. In room internet worked great.
“Loved it!”
We loved this hotel. It was easy walking distance from the train station; and had charming decor. The staff, especially Julia, were very helpful and friendly. It is not in the heart of everything; but since most everything is within 15 minutes walking distance, that is ok!
“Watch out for the misleading information”
Beware of the misleading information. We had to pay 30 Euros per night for parking. The hotel description says "Free Parking" althought there is none. The hotel is well located and convenient and the staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are OK.
“A classic gem”
Very clean, central and cosy.
“Another Gem in IFlorence”
I already shared my thoughts.....
