“Embassy Review”
Very helpful and friendly staff; especially at breakfast. Breakfast was a nice buffet; better than I'd expected. What wasn't so good was the malfunctioning airconditioning in the room. We arrived very late and needed to go straight to sleep; the room was like an ice box and the temperature couldn't be adjusted up or turned off.
“Central; Clean; Friendly Staff”
Less than 5 minutes from train station which is in turn less than 15 minutes walk from any of the main attractions. The hotel staff were friendly and all spoke good English. The breakfast was great - plenty of meats, cheeses, cereals, fruits etc. We had the quad room which was actually effectively two twin rooms, one with full en-suite and second with ensuite toilet (no shower). Very good hotel in central location with efficient friendly staff.
“Best breakfast & bathroom in Italy”
More than coffee & stale bread and that is for sure! Eggs, fresh baked baskets of yummy offerrings, the cappuccinos are fantastic and there is much fresh fruit. The hotel is lovely and the A/C frigid (which is a big deal when tempuratures are melting you). Most modern and biggest bathroom and shower I have been in during any stay in Italy. The location is right by the train station which makes it convenient to walk to & from but it is not far from the middle of whatever you want to do. Excellent stay.
“good quality at reasonable price”
I overall liked this four-star hotel, even though the location is not excellent. It is walking distance from the center, but the street itself is not the most pleasant one. If you are attending a meeting at he fortezza da basso, consider that you will have to cross the train station or walk through a tunnel to reach it. Rooms are very comfortable, modern and clean, but not really spacious. The staff is collaborative and very polite. Breakfast buffet is excellent, with fresh fruit, cheese and salami.
“Not family friendly”
The hotel is about a 20 min walk to the Uffuzi...and 5-8 minutes from the Train station. It is NOT a room with a view. The anoying thing about the hotel was there insistence that my wife and 3 small children get 3 rooms. we booked 2 rooms, but 2 rooms slept 4...and we had 5. Breakfast at the hotel was included, and it was very average. would not return.
“Excellent hotel!”
Great spacious and modern room. Very clean and quiet. Quality of breakfast was a wonderful surprise - they even prepared us a boxed breakfast the morning that we left on an early train.
“Convenient for station”
Breakfast was good, staff helpful.
“Florence's most helpful hotel!”
Lost our luggage enroute from Brussells to Florence and got to the hotel late in the evening. The receptionist, Andrea was on duty and asked for a contact number so that he could help us locate where the luggage was. He spent two days trying to find out when the luggage would be arriving at the hotel and finally we got the luggage on Sunday and we left Florence on Monday. The hotel is very quiet and clean with clean bedding changed every day. Close to the railway and bus station. Would recommend to my friends.
“Disappointed”
To be fair, the price and the location was great. Practically 5 minutes walk to the train station and 15 minutes walk to the tourist attractions. However in Milan and Rome for the same price I got myself the Crown Plaza and even the Hilton hotel for slightly more. I was given a room where the bathroom was lowered and the door was only about 1.5m clearance so that was not ideal. The room cleanliness was also just soso. Worse thing is when we came back each day the room had a bunch of mossies inside which was REAL annoying! I've never had mossies in a hotel room before (unless of course in places like Bali/Phucket or the countryside). That greatly took away from the whole stay experience.
“Exceptional!! Would stay here again!”
Was here a week in mid November 2010. Exceptional stay....on check in, we were told we'd been upgraded from superior room to jr suite. The suite was wow! Bathroom, bed, living area...everywhere was very clean, nice, well maintained. No complaints. The design/layout was simple and elegant. Internet cost was very cheap. breakfast was outstanding! The helpfulness/service of the staff is exceptional! The hotel is located on the other "quieter" side of the main S.M.N train station and all the major Florence sights are within walking distance. ONLY complaint we had for the hotel was being ltd to skylight windows in the room since the suite was in the attic. Took some getting used to, but you could open/close the windows with a remote.
