Good location, OK hotel ... rude dining room staff

Posted 02-Jul-2015
Pros: Location ... I think that's pretty much it.
Cons: Better train your dining room staff and have more choice on breakfast (instead of just 3 items: tiny sliced bread, cheese and ham)
My 10 years old son trying to get a second cup because the first cup he had was filled with drink he is allergic to. The dining room woman yelled at him loudly (auditable to the whole dining area) saying, "you are not allowed to get more cup since this is your eight cup!" I responded, "How can we consume 8 cups with just the 3 of us? This is the forth one only. My son is allergic to the drink filled in his first cup." The story doesn't end there. Another woman came asked us, "just two on this table?" I replied, "no, we are three." Then she shook her head walked away saying "tsk tsk tsk ..." mumbling some Italian words. I asked, "Is there any problem here? This table had 6 people but now 3 left, would you mind tell me what the problem is??". The second woman came saying " ... no English ..." then walked away. The fact is, we are family of 3 which took over the table from another family of 3. She came pick up those used cups and dishes from our table assuming those were ours! Frankly, if you have problem with that (more like a misunderstanding), you could come to us in a polite and private manner so we at least have a chance to clear the misunderstanding. But instead, they made it a big scene and embarrassed us in front of everyone. They ruin my day completely right in the morning. And, we stayed in 3 different hotels in Italy. Their breakfast choice is many times worse than the other two but they are the most expensive hotel among all 3.

Hotel bien placé

Posted 10-Jun-2015
Cons: Le petit déjeuner
L'hotel est un peu vieillot mais calme (chambre sur petite cour intérieure) et très bien placé. Le personnel est agréable. Par contre le petit déjeneur est très succint.

It was in a perfect location to walk everywhere .

Posted 21-May-2015
Pros: everything
The staff was very friendly and always there to assist. They gave us maps and explained in detail how to find all the sights we wanted to see . Called a cab when needed . The location was perfect . It was near everything and was quite at night in the room . It is located on side of busy street . Had elevator , hair dryer , adapter for your phone. Internet for small fee . Breakfast was awesome . Will be back to stay again with hotel De Lanzi!!!!!!!! Sandy May 2015

Nice clean hotel in the heart of the city!

Posted 15-May-2015
Cons: Slightly larger rooms. Maybe have an ironing board and an iron for guests to use. Complimentary bottle of water should be included (at least small).
Location: 5 minutes walk from Duomo and Baptistery and 10 minutes from Accademia Gallery, Uffizi gallery, Palazzo Vecchio and San Lorenzo leather market.
Hotel De Lanzi is close to all the popular sites in Florence. It is at a 5 minute walking distance to all exciting and fun places. The entire area is lively with shopping places and restaurants. The hotel itself is old but very charming. I had a single room and so it was very small. But it was exceptionally clean and the housekeeping was fabulous. Breakfast everything is an advantage as you can eat and start your sightseeing early in the morning. The staff is extremely polite and fluent in English. They are helpful and they provide with all facilities. The hotel is not very fancy but I would recommend it as it has a perfect location and very good and helpful staff. Plus even if the room is small you spend the whole time outside in the amazing city. So the hotel is definitely worth it in the reasonable price that it charges.

Loved the location!

Posted 11-May-2015
Pros: The view and location were magical!
Cons: The breakfast could have some more variety (particularly cereals).
Being warned that hotels in Florence are overpriced and poor quality, we were extremely happy with our stay at Hotel De Lanzi. The location was perfect for us being right in the heart of the historical centre of Florence and we had a stunning view of the Duomo from our room window. Although anyone who likes to sleep in on their holidays should not stay here as the bells from the cathedral start from 8am and are very loud. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was also clean and spacious. The breakfast was below average but then perhaps this is where you get what you pay for.

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, fachada fea, se ve viejo pero esta muy bien! Las camas deliciosas, el baño nuevo y muy limpio! Vale la pena por la cama y la ubicación.
