“Washroom is not clean & others...”
I am not really that picky about hotel as long as it's clean. I like where it is located - a bit off the tourist area but only 10-15 minutes walk to Duomo, San Lorenzo, 20-25 to Uffizi. First night was just horrible. Given Florence is still hot at the end of Sept, the controller/remote for our AC was not even in our room. We searched and raised our issues to the reception. They would not change room for us as it was fully booked for the night. It was hot as hell! She said it's cooler at night and woud be okay to leave the window opened. Of course there were mosquitoes. The next day the male reception was rude and said it's impossible to not have the remote in the room. I don't know what he was suggesting. I demaded him to come and look it up himself. That's quite pointless and he had to grab another remote (which he or she should have done in the first place) Besides the showerstall was quite horrible first by design.....water got everywhere and the shower door was moudly. Other than that, the room incl linen was clean and charming. I wouldn't go back though because of the dirty washroom.
“Friendly, would stay again”
Older, quaint hotel, convenient to the Duomo, and Academia with many inexpensive, quite nice eating establishments in the area. The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean. We drove, and the parking was quite convenient to the location of the hotel.
“Very happy with the hotel”
This hotel was a little tucked away on a side street but very accessible to the shopping, museums, restaurants and action of Florence. The rooms were a little small but since we didn't do anything but sleep in them they were fine. The breakfast was wonderful and the hotel staff very helpful each time we had a question.
“Great place”
This was great value for money. Easy walking distance to everything, and a lovely place. Helpful staff, nice breakfast, lovely room.
“Florence and Hotel Cimabue”
as above
“Not impressed”
This hotel was a bit farther from the action than we would have liked, requiring to take a cab for one event. However, it was clean. The included breakfast was a good value. The room was small and we had a shared pillow which was long but not comfortable.
“Mosquitos, No Air Condition”
bathroom and bedroom spacious. shower - fear of tight spaces? tight isn't the word. no air condition - mosquitos waiting in the bathroom to greet you. not at all like the photos shown on the website.
“No air conditioning and shower for a very thin person”
Good location. Rooms with no air conditioning, and wi fi only works outside your room. Shower only can fit somebody with spaggetti body, it is so small that I didn't fit in it, and I'm a regular 54. A joke. Since you have the windows open, noise comes in your room very early in the morning. Nah!!, I won't be back there.
“cozy and quiet”
Hotel Cimabue is a quiet, friendly hotel in a nice neighborhood. The staff was pleasant, knowledgable and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and charming, and breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Florence.
“Central but quiet , and at a good price”
The hotel is within walking distance of all the major places of interest, but at the same time has the advantage of being enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke English fluently. The hotel was clean, well maintained and offered free Wifi internet access. It is a smaller hotel (in terms of both the number and sizes of the rooms). The size of my room did take some getting used to. However, overall, my stay was a positive experience.
