Great hotel

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Loved this hotel and would absolutely stay there again! Location was perfect, walking distance to everything and it was down the street from the duomo. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The breakfast in the morning was good as well. I have no complaints, I enjoyed every part of my stay.

Fabulous location

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Better lighting in the room
Location: Florence Duomo 150m, Piazza Signoria 200m, plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants near by.
The hotel was well located on Via Calzaiuoli, only 150 m from the Duomo, and 200m from Piazza Signoria. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the breakfast(included in our tariff) was excellent. Our room was very quiet. The air conditioning worked well. My only criticism of the room was that it was a bit dark even when we had all of the lights turned on.

Pros: Its position was great breakfast lovely self service staff very friendly its was our second stay in Florence preferred this hotel to our last.
Cons: A better shower in bathroom is really the only thing wanted
Location: Its close to Piazza Republica and the Basilica easy to walk to both lovely position for going out for stroll in evenings
Great stay booked for 4 nights hotel so easy to get to lovely breakfast great staff everything you could want for a city stay. It was easy to pop back to late afternoon for rest before going off for meal in the evening great shops all around open till late. Great tea and coffee facility in room filled up every day comfy bed lovely sheets. Street noise can be heard but we liked that shutters on windows to keep light out.

Terrible hotel - avoid if you can!

Posted 26-Jun-2014
Pros: The only good thing about this hotel is its location- very close to all the major sites in Florence.
I stayed at this hotel on my recent trip to Florence with my parents. We had two rooms - they put us on the first floor, next to the breakfast room and right outside of the stairs. There is constant noise due to the traffic in and out of the breakfast room and people taking the stairs. The rooms are outdated and the bathrooms are really small. The hotel wi-fi never worked even though they pretend to give you a passcode. I called the staff and the only thing they offered is that they'll "look into it". The TV is small and you cannot watch world cup because the hotel did not subscribe to it.

Great location, modest 4 star rating

Posted 25-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
My wife and I stayed here in June 2014 and found the hotel satisfactory, but ideally located. Luckily we only used it for sleeping as we spent most of our time in Florence wandering the streets, and the hotel is in a great location to do this. Central to all the attractions. The overall condition of the hotel is modest, and the description of the bathroom for the superior rooms being large is quite an overstatement. The internet was also very poor, with the connection being dropped constantly. You pay the price for this hotel because of location, not exceptional room quality or service.

Nice hotel on a busy street in Florence.

Posted 25-Jun-2014
Pros: Location was nice.
Cons: The key situation needs to be addressed. The key holder includes a tassel.
Location: Florence is pretty tiny, so you're within 5-10 min of all the sights.
The hotel, staff, breakfast, amenities, everything is nice at this location, it's just tiny. It's old fashioned, as in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" old-fashioned. You get to carry your room key around on a rather large keychain, so you don't lose it. You are paying for location because it's right between Pallazo Vecchio and the Duomo. There are many shops on the street, both local and designer shops, which I think adds to the price of the hotel. Also, if you have children, the rooms are small, so you may want to consider getting another room.

Great location!

Location can't be beat for adjacency to most key sights. Walk out the front door, turn left and it's 3 short blocks to the Uffizi Gallery and Palazzo Vecchio. Walk out and turn right and 3 blocks down is the Duomo. It was nice to beat the heat by grabbing a gelato around the corner and popping in for a cool down. Great restaurants, markets and gelato on the side streets immediately adjacent. Room size was very standard for Europe, especially for an adult triple occupancy. The bathroom, however, was very very small, no easy way to keep the water in the shower (no curtain or glass). The wi fi was free but spotty. Some of the pictures on the website showed larger bathrooms with double sinks. In a triple, that would have been great. Try not to get a room on the first floor. We did, and were awakened very early by the loud sounds of the breakfast service and conversation of the servers. The hotel was gracious when we complained, and moved us to a much quieter location for the remainder of our stay. Our second room was above the street but the noise was very muffled by the windows and shutters. The air conditioning worked well. The breakfast buffet had many options and the food quality was good. Overall, the hotel is clean and the service was great.
