“Quiet street, excellent desk service, very helpful, breakfast great”
We picked the hotel based on Expedia reviews and were extremely satisfied.
“Excellent base”
The staff at the Botticelli were really helpful, they were very proactive about looking up timetables, giving directions and making suggestions for restaurants and places not to be missed. They also saved my life...I had left the camera charger at home, and fearing that I would probably have to buy a new camera, I asked at reception where the nearest camera shop was, and they found me a charger that fitted to borrow for the whole stay! The Botticelli is ideally located for exploring the historic centre, five minute walk from the Duomo, ten from Palazzo Vecchio. The entrance hall is an amazing space, with a frescoed ceiling, and although the rooms are not huge they are well cared for and bigger than many city rooms we have stayed in. The en suite was newly refurbished to a high standard, and the chamber maid service of a higher standard than expected from a 3 star hotel. We originally arranged to go to Florence as my husband wanted to run the Florence Marathon, and we were very pleasantly surprised to find breakfast laid on at 6am on the day of the marathon, so the many runners staying had time to eat and allow their food to settle before running. The hotel Manager also ran the marathon in a very respectable time!
“A Hotel with Character in the heart of Florence”
Arriving around mid-day, the hotel was expecting us and the room was ready immediately. The room faced a light well rather than outside, which was a shame but not a deal-breaker, the bed was a double made from two singles, which makes for a large bed but gives you a channel to roll into, a number of hotels use this technique but personally I'd prefer a proper, even if smaller, double bed. The public rooms are nicely furnished and the reception area has a particularly interesting ceiling. The location is ideal for getting to the main sights and if you're a fan of local markets then you can't get much closer to one than here. The inclusion of free bicycle use was an excellent idea, we used them for two days out into the countryside which is easy to get to in such a compact city. The first day we asked to use the bikes, they were already in use, but the helpful receptionist phoned one of the other hotels in the group and we picked them up from there, this was excellent service as we hadn't given ant warning that we wanted to use them. Breakfast was plentiful and good with a nice choice of breads, meats, cheeses, fruits and cakes, though the orange juice was the made up from powder type which is unfathomable in a country where oranges are plentiful, yet again a number of hotels seem to do this. Overall, if you like your hotel to be human sized, run by real people and you want a central location in Florence at a reasonable price I don't think you'll find a better one.
“WE loved it!”
The staff was great!!!! They were accommodating, helpful, and tried to meet our every request......the reception staff spoke excellent english and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a typically small European hotel, so storage in the rooms was a bit of a problem, but it has a wonderful small terrace on the second floor....a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine. The hotel is close to many points of interest as well as several very good places to eat.....if we were to return to Florence, we would definitely stay here again!
“Great Hotel, Great location, Great price”
The hotel was great the staff were very helpful. The bathrooms are small, but from what I have heard that is generally what most bathrooms are in Italy. The place is very centrally located and thye do a great job. If I go back to florence, I will stay here again.
“Excellent location, clean place”
Rooms are spacious, located near atractions, restaurants and shops. Breakfast very healthy and substantial. No parking area need, parked on garage next to hotel previously arranged with the hotel
“Botticelli NIHotels”
The first night I stayed in a small, run of the mill room, but the next night I was upgraded to a much larger, satisfying room. Overall, both rooms were clean and fine to stay in. They were comfortable enough to sleep overnight and get out of early in the morning to see the beautiful sights. I'd probably consider staying again based on location and my current budget.
“very good position”
Excellent position as only 10 min stroll to Duomo in one direction,5 mins from San Lorenzo, a lot of 'eating places' near the hotel and only 2 mins from the central market (produce market) Simple, pleasantly decorated hotel with comfortable beds in a very good position
“Good hotel in excellent location”
The hotel is only 500m walk from the main railway station and is surrounded by restaurants and trattorias. We paid for a superior room and our friends had a standard room. The standard room was very small (not unusual in Florence) and ours was a good size. Both were clean and comfortable. Our room had a view over the central market. This was a mixed blessing as late-night revellers kept us awake into the early hours. Our friends room was quiet. All the staff were very helpful and happy to provide advice on where to eat, where to visit and also to book excursions for us. The only niggle we had was that breakfast was not replenished and if you arrived to eat after about 8am, choice was limited. Otherwise, there was a good selection for breakfast.
