“Nice place to stay and will stay again.”
The hotel is clean and the staff are very helpful. I found the room I sayed in was clean and a reasonable size with fully functional air conditioning. It is a bit of a walk to the main centre of Florence, that said it is nice to walk into the city along the river, with a choice of both banks. there is a bridge across the river near the hotel. Breakfast is basic but there is plenty of choice, you can eat as much as you like, there is olso fresh fruit, continental style food and or cooked bacon and sides its O.K The bar serves food and has a good selection. there is a restaurant next to the hotel and a nice park next to the river with a bar that also does snacks and coffee. there are other restaurants in the area which serve a good mixture of food including traditional Tuscan dishes. Thre is a busy road in front of the hotel but that was not an issue for me, I will stay at this hotel again. I have stayed at other hotels in Tuscany with the same star rating and they do not offer the same level of service.
“Excellent value for money”
We booked here to stay in Florence for a few days. The hotel was superb in every respect, particularly the breakfast which allowed you to fuel up for a busy day of sightseeing! We would not normally stay in a hotel of such high calibre but an Expedia special rate made it a very affordable option. It took us around 10 minutes to walk into the beginning of the historic centre.
“Nice hotel, friendly staff”
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is a little distance from the city centre - about a 15-20 minute walk but the walk is pleasant. Initially we were given a room on the first floor (105) which was at the top of the stairs so there was a lot of noise in the morning from the reception area when groups where meeting up. When I asked at reception if I could be moved they were very helpful and understanding. They did say that wifi would cost 10 Euro per day, but when I said that it was included in my rate the receptionist soon printed me out a connection password which sorted it out. The room was nice, breakfast ok and staff were friendly so I would stay here again.
“Not Impressed”
The staff was young but not friendly at all. I asked for the TV remote control. Nothing in the first day and in the second day I was told by a young lady that the HDMDI TV was so modern that it did not have a remote control. The air conditioner did not work for 24 hours as well as the safe.
“grand hotel mediterraneo”
Not the best of hotels. Just scraping a 4 star in our view. very pokey bathroom, smallest ever. Just mean all round really, no kettles in rooms, measly breakfast, congealed scramble, greasy pancetta, cold roast tomatoes and cold beans. the worst ever coffee - think the beans had been burnt. All round experience wasn't good. internet 5 euros for 1 hour! dark dated corridors and our room didnt look at all like the ones on the very attractive hotel website - and neither did any of the other rooms we glimpsed on the 3rd floor - where are these very lovely rooms and where are they located. the room service menu appeared to be a series of ready meals which you could order. not at all impressed. the staff were very pleasant and well trained though so not all bad. Dont go here if you can help it. rather unsatisfactory i'm afraid
“Superb breakfast buffet!”
This hotel offered an incredible buffet included in the hotel cost. Lots of choices of pastries and breads, plus fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, etc. The hotel is located on the river, in 20-30 minute walking distance to the heart of all the major sites. Parking is free but limited to 5 spots in front of the hotel. We were one of the lucky ones to find one. Nice stay - Florence is beautiful.
“Outstanding Hotel”
This is a beautiful hotel in Florence, which we booked only one day in advance due to a change in travel plans at a very low price. We were surprised at the quality and comfort of the rooms. Restaurant is a bit pricey, but everything else was perfect.
“not impressed.”
The staff is very kind and very prepared in any situation. The rooms are really bad (2nd floor) very very old and very small.need to be renewed absolutely. Breakfast ok!! coffee long and espresso very good.
“Not Impressed”
Excellent breakfast with hardworking breakfast staff. Hotel was too far from any other restaurants, nothing was close. Room was small but clean and soundproof. No help with luggage. No luggage carts. Ten steps up to entrance with no ramp for luggage. Front desk staff was the most unhelpful that I have ever encountered, 10 people stood behind the front desk looking busy, but no one was able to help or answer questions. Sandwich shop had wretched plastic packaged sandwiches to eat. Why not add a cooler with cold drinks?
“We looked forward to coming home at the end of each day”
This is a very comfortable and attractive hotel. It is within easy walking distance of the center of Florence, and allowed us to take a diffeent route into town every day, seeing new parts of the town with each trip. Good neighborhood, just on the river. Staff very friendly and glad to help with any problem or request.
