“Fabulous hotel”

The on line pix do not do justice to this hotel. Charming old-world decor woth all mod cons! The location is less than 2 blocks to duomo and easy walk to all areas of the city. The very best part is all the private roftop terraces, all different levels, all with amazing views and so romantic. Restaurant was lovely, food was exccellent and beautiful in-room breakfast included.

“Good place to explore Florence from”

This hotel is opposite the train station Santa Maria Novella in Florence. We came by train from Rome and it was very convenient. It is between the Academia and the Duomo and near all Florence highlights. One can easily walk from here all around Florence. A good smattering of restaurants in the vicinity. Breakfast is excellent in a roof top restaurant. Concierge very efficient. Rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms clean and renovated. Would not hesitate to recommend.

“Nice hotel on the whole”

Very convenient for railway station and near city centre. Main attraction is fantastic roof garden with bar and restaurant but service and food are variable and breakfast is poor. Bedrooms are large and well furnished, beds on the hard side. Free internet connection in rooms.

“The Dictator Des Res !”

Excellent service from the concierge at all times and for all requests, basic but nice room. Standard continental breakfast etc But No Toast!! Very disturbing to see a display of framed photographs of Hitler and Mussolini surveying Florence from Piazza Michelangelo ! ! ! These are on full display near the lift on 3rd floor. If the subject is not to your liking, be warned. Also, i have not looked at the rest of the photographic collections!

“Great hotel, great breakfast, great location”

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at Hotel Baglioni at the end of our Italian holiday in June. It exceeded our expectations - it is a great hotel, in a perfect location, just 5 mintues stroll from Santa Maria Novella railway station. We had a huge room with king size bed and firm mattress, excellent bathroom, the staff were very helpful, there was a huge buffet breakfast, lovely rooftop area with views across to the Duomo and beyond.

When to go

Probably April/May ie before the summer months of June/July/August when there are too many tourists and everywhere is so crowded.

Shopping

Give The Mall a miss unless you are into expensive, unwearable bling. If you have to go, take the bus from the bus station by Santa Maria Novella station - it is much cheaper than the organised tours. It is 50 minute drive outside of Florence. The cafe there is excellent and quite inexpensive.

“Reasonable Hotel”

Great time in Florence. Good hotel only let down by the reception staff who did not seem to want to help. No info on the local area from them at all. The hotel is just over the road from the Bus and Train station so ideally located. All the attractions are situated nearby. The hotels rooftop bar and restuarant has even better views than in the pubicity pictures. The veiw at breakfast from the windows are fantastic. Florence was more expensive than we thought it would be.

“Great hotel in Florence, Italy”

We recently stayed here and would highly recommend it!! Staff spoke English and were friendly. Rooms were of good size and very clean. Free breakfast was very nice and had wonderful view from restaurant. Location was superb. Walked with suitcases to and from train station. Walked to Duomo and Uffizzi. We had need for medical attention at the Florence Hospital and staff was very helpful in getting us a wheelchair, helping us with phone calls to and from hospital. Would absolutely stay here again. Mom and two daughters recommend it!!

When to go

Would go back to Florence but not in June/July. Too hot and crowded!!

“A wonderful experience”

We really enjoyed our two-night stay. The best part was the roof-top restaurant. We ate there both nights and thouroughly enjoyed it. The atmoshere and views were amazing and the food was wonderful. The breakfast buffet was the best of our entire trip. The room was a good size and very comfortable.

“Florentine refuge”

Wonderful rooftop garden/bar with a 360 view of Florence...great breakfast, weird wifi, we'd go back even though it's expensive...
