Next door to the Duomo.

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: Rooms were very nice and the location was great for the price.
Cons: Hotel staff could leave a list of recommended places, and have staff on duty more often.
Location: Everything that is near the Duomo is within walking distance of the hotel. Go to the Boboli gardens and Michelangelo Piazzale.
The hotel was good. The staff was not there very often, so I couldn't ask for recommendations. One day the breakfast was late, so I had to wait 40 minutes before getting breakfast. Very close and convenient to get to places. Very comfortable and roomy.

Great location one block south of the Duomo.

Posted 30-Apr-2015
Pros: Location, price.
Cons: A few more choices at breakfast. No smoking at all in the hotel.
Location: Train station 15 - 20 min. walk Duomo 2 min. walk Uffizi Gallery 3 min. walk Dantes House Museum - 1 min. walk Ponte Vecchio 5 min. walk
My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Ferdinando ll dei Medici. The location is great, just one short block south of the Duomo and one street over from Casa Di Dante. Lucca, the manager, was very friendly and attentive and spoke pretty good English. The hotel is 70 steps up on the 2nd floor (U.S. 3rd floor) but there is a small elevator. The room was basic but roomy and comfortable. The room was a no -smoking room but the reception smelled strongly of smoke, although it did not permeate into our room. All rooms are on the same floor. Breakfast was very basic; cornflakes, Melba toast, criossant, jam, juice and coffee, but it did the trick. There was a lot of street noise on our first night; Vespas, street sweepers, carts of some description, and a few late night revelers walking back to there lodgings. Workmen repairing a neighboring building started at 7 am with hammers and saws and noise of the people on the floor above could be readily heard as they got ready for the day. The other nights weren't as bad but it is not the quietest of neighborhoods.

Idéalement situé à 5 mn à pied du Duomo.

Posted 27-Oct-2014

In the HEART of Firenze!

Posted 21-Oct-2014
The room and bathroom were small but we managed. I could not believe we were right in the Heart of Firenze between the Uffizi and river and the Domo and San Marco and the Academia on the other side. All were within easy walking distance. The breakfast had too many carbs but the food in the city was terrific and reasonably expensive or affordable, whichever you would choose. It was a great choice and we loved our stay!

Great location. Clean rooms. Hallway to get in is a little scary the first time you enter. Breakfast isn't great. Recommend staff to be more welcoming and friendly. A smile goes a long way. Great value for the price.

In a hurry

We left a couple of items in the bathroom because we woke up late and had to make our train. The hotel collected our belongings and shipped them to us in the usa. They went above and beyond.

Hotel dans le centre

Posted 08-Oct-2014

Good Location

Posted 07-Oct-2014
Pros: The location
Cons: Breakfast
This hotel was right in the heart of all the things you need to see in Florence, which made life a lot easier. The hotel staff were great and helped by recommending places to eat and giving directions and getting taxis. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was simple and served well. I would recommend this hotl to my friends.
