“Gem in Florence”
This was a tucked away very special small hotel in Florence, Italy. Mario (the manager) was a very sweet, charming man. The owner (older woman with her husband) did not speak english, but was very kind in her demeanor and made our cappucino in the morning. Our room had a frescoe on the ceiling from the 1500s - it was great - tile floors, very clean and comfortable in a great location. Florence in general was not that friendly - so this was a respite from the outside world!
“Delightful little gem”
Lovely small hotel with giant rooms and extraordinary high ceilings and painted murals. Very helpful service and friendly staff. Great location near Market Centrale, Duomo and Train Station. Highly recommended.
“Small charming hotel with excellent location and reasonable price”
The Burchianti only has a few rooms. It is on the second floor. Used to be a residence that was converted to a hotel, so it is not your typical big hotel, so do not expect restaurant, pool, etc. It's location was outstanding for us. Only a few blocks from a very good outdoor shopping market and restaurants. Very close to the Duomo. Manager was very nice and helpful. Speaks English well. Only negative to us was lack of internet service. Our room had beautiful painting on ceiling. It has a charm that really grows on you. We will definitely stay there when we return to Florence on our next trip. Continental breakfast was included.
“Charming and Romantic”
This was such a lovely hotel. We stayed in the Junior Suite with the cathedral ceiling. The room was large and clean. It was such a nice place to place to stay. Lovely sitting area, nice breakfast. Close to the train station and all sites. The owners where very nice and welcoming. I would stay again. This was our favorite hotel during our trip in Italy.
“Best Boutique Hotel in Florence!”
We stayed at the Hotel Burchainti in March of 2010. This was Hands down the BEST Hotel experience I have had anywhere I have traveled. The owners where kind, and extremely attentive to all of our comforts and needs. A light breakfast was served every morning with the BEST Cappuccinos in Italy. They had amazing attention to detail down to the china cups they served tea in. Our room was beautifully painted with frescoes from the 15th century and was a delight to wake up to every morning. I will ONLY stay at the Burchainti when I come back to Florence. They made my trip unforgettable. I can't recommend this hotel enough! The location, the people, the rooms.. perfect!
“Best Propietor”
We really enjoyed our stay in Florence. The hotel felt more like a bed and breakfast; we were treated as family guests not hotel patrons. The location is convenient to the train station and the major sites allowing an easy walk to and from. Florence is best enjoyed on foot and in the off season. Our every need was accommodated by the staff; we left some luggage at the hotel as we took a two day trip to Rome. The suite which was generous in size and well appointed. The fresco on the ceiling added to the enjoyment. The bedroom and bath were large by Italian standards although the bath/ shower combination was less than ideal for anyone of any size. Breakfast is healthy with excellent service and an expresso bar. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any friend. The kindness and service separate this hotel from others which we stayed during our trip to Europe. I think Florence is best enjoyed when the crowds are smaller. Make sure you day trip to Sienna and San Gimignano. Many guided tours leave via bus or luxury van near the train station.
