“Great location but anything else”
The location is perfect, a few steps from the Duomo, very close to Piazza della Reppublica, really great but anything else. I want to highlight the very bad service and manners of some of the chambermaids. Below the bed the floor was really dirty and the room was too far to be ready and clean with the exception of the first day in the hotel. I claimed to the managers and I didn't get a satisfactory response from them. Definitely it was not a 5 or even a 4 stars experience.
“Loved it!”
I would definetely stay there again!! Great location and very nice room!
“Probably not worth the money”
This is a very nice hotel and it certainly looks the part. It's very elegant and, once the renovations are complete, I'm sure it will be fantastic. The service was amazing. The room were a bit small, but very clean and tidy. The location is also excellent. It's only yards from the Duomo and close to a vast array of restaurant/shopping options. Florence is quite small, so it's also pretty close to the other main attractions. However, the building works were slightly irritating, if only because we were not warned about them and they meant we couldn't see out of our window. They were also quite noisy. We were out most of the time, so it didn't really affect us, but it could affect others, I guess. To be honest, it's a nice hotel, but it comes with a high price tag. You could probably stay somewhere cheaper and still enjoy Florence just as much. You probably won't be there much, anyway.
“Excellent-never disappoints”
We have stayed here before and returned because of the GREAT location. Just steps from the Duomo and P. Rep. We have driven our car to the hotel twice and each time the front desk is very helpful with directions. We stayed there in July 2009 and March 2011-because of the renovations-it looks like a completely different hotel on the inside now. Well on it's way to being a 5 star hotel! The rooms are beautiful, beds very, very comfy-esp. for European standards, and the hotel is usually good about offering an upgrade for a decent price on check-in. The only thing I would say that is not a good improvement are the bathroom doors-they are clear glass with beautiful glazed etching. You can see straight through them. So, keep that in mind if privacy is what you're looking for in a bathroom experience!! You're not going to get it there. If you don't care about that-definitely stay here. The location is GREAT. Once the loud renovations are complete-the hotel will be perfect (very, very noisy while we were there in March).
“An experience of a lifetime”
The quality and location of the Brunelleschi Hotel were perfect for our stay in Firenze. Everything from the room to the breakfast buffet to the bar were exceptional. Our family will be returning to visit again next summer and plan to return for another visit. Grazie and ciao,
“Great location. Otherwise, a disappointment.”
As promised, Hotel Brunellschi was in "the heart of Florence" - an ideal location for a nearly week long stay. The common areas and rooms were generally attractive, but the lay out of the hotel is a little confusing. Our room and service for a six-night stay were a disappointment. The window to the deluxe room opened into the wall of an alley, with noise and smells from food preparation. On more than one occasion, we had to ask for basic room servicing to be revisited (eg, replacement of used glasses with clean glasses). With the exception of the porters, the front desk staff were not as helpful or even correct with local information, and a couple of personalities clearly needed more training in customer service. A less than average overall experience.
“Great location, great rooms (in the new section)”
Fabulous decor and location. Hopefully they fully renovate the old part which is very worn. Great food.
“Just excellent!”
Excellent hotel in prime, central location. Everything was first class. Subtle mix of old and new. Great views of Duomo from tower (lift to 4th floor and staircase to tower).
“What a find!!”
We could not recommend this hotel highly enough. We booked it through expedia and had no idea that it was going to be so high a standard for the price we paid. It was only when we saw it in all the guide books at a much higher rate. Brilliant location, great rooms (The bells of the Duomo are a bit noisy at 7am but it seems churlish to complain!!!!). The reception staff could not be more helpful especially when I asked them to arrange scooter hire at short notice.
“Lovey, friendly boutique style hotel”
A friend and I have just returned from a long weekend at the Brunelleschi. Our room was a classic twin - beautifully decorated, lots of hanging space, super bathroom and shower - just perfect. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was more than adequate and we couldn't fault the place - a real find just 100 yards from the duomo. This is a place I hope to return to. A really lovely expereince.
