“Conveniently located, very friendly staff, great service”

The hotel is a short walk from the SMN train station and conveniently located to local attractions. The staff was very helpful with reservations to restaurants, events, and finding a personal driver to take us to tour a few Chianti wineries.

“Astoria”

Very central. However, skimpy breakfasts, would recommend eating breakfast out.

“very nice hotel”

hotel was very nice and staff was helpful, rooms were some of the best that we stayed in. great location within walking distance to almost anything in florence. Within walking to the train and bus terminal which is a big plus if you want to go to other areas outside of florence. prices for breakfast and dinner extremely high but many good and reasonable places to eat close by. Hotel does have a charge for tours that they book at accademia gallery. we paid 28 euros at hotel and could have got same tickets at the gallery for 16 but it is still a great place to stay also very quiet, wonderful linen sheets.

“First time in Florence”

This hotel is very conveinent to most attractions. (5-15 minute walk to Il Duomo, Uffizi, Dante home, Medici Chapel etc.) We were on our honeymoon & were told we'd be greeted with champagne and rose petals which we weren't but the room was tidy & the staff was helpful so all in all it was worth it & .....with a setting like Florence what more can you ask for?

“Very good service from a tired building. Would recomend”

Greeting and reception excellent. Room condition comfortable but very tired. The bidet drain plug stopped working and the bathroom light worked when it wanted to! Shortage of electrical plugs. About what you would expect for an old building. The breakfast was very good and the staff were first class, as was the bar man. The staff all spoke very good English and we would recomend the hotel.

“A Fine Hotel, good staff, convenient”

We enjoyed a honeymoon stay at the Astoria. The staff was very helpful in arranging tours and booking restaurant reservations. The bell man even showed us the rooftop bar in the off season! The room was comfortable, if a little noisy at night. Room service was a mixed bag. All the sights are within walking distance.

“Florence”

Staff was great and breakfast wonderful! Hotel had a problem with a/c, rooms were hot. We changed rooms which was better but still hot. Great location and room was very nice! Would stay again, but in the spring or fall.

“Florentine Beauty”

This hotel is so beautiful! Its location is great (right by the train station and near the Duomo), and it truly is a Florentine beauty. It's decorated in a typical Florentine fashion, with vaulted ceilings and thick moldings and tapestries and statues. It was a pleasure (and I'm a hard one to please)!

“Very close to perfection”

Great location in an amazing city staff very friendly and helpful, some work needed on upgrading the facilities but This is understandable given the age of the fantastic building. I would definately return and recommend October as a ideal time to visit
