“Very accomodating staff, would not hesitate to stay there again.”

This hotel is in a very good location to walk to nearby markets and several sites. The main train station Santa Maria Novella is a short walk, several city blocks, where you can take the bus or train. The hotel itself is older, and very charming not fancy glitz and glamour but a great value. More than we expected of a three star rating. We had a comfortable bed in Europe, I'll stay there again just for that novelty.

“Great place to stay.”

We enjoyed the rooftop bar and the friendliness of the staff. It is well kept older hotel with lots of style and class for it's age.

“A Heavenly Experience”

The hotel is located in the heart of the city within walking distance of all major sites. The front desk staff provides a wonderful map of the area. There are several very good outdoor restaurants on the same block. In the evening be sure to visit the 6th floor for a great view of the city.

“Will always look here first for return trips to Florence”

We couldn't have been more pleased with the entire hotel, our room, and particularly the service! From our window, we had a breathtaking view. The staff were pleasant and extremely informative and patient with our limited Italian. In addition, jet-lagged, we overslept the check-out time, but we were permittted to "take as long as you like. There is no hurry at all." We spoke with the concierge to get directions to museums, and she was always pleasant and helpful. This was our second honeymoon, and we would definitely stay here again. The room had vaulted ceilings, a comfy king-size bed, and a large bathroom, including a bathtub (a rarity in Italy).

“Fabulous”

I am able to thoroughly recommend this hotel but would not recommend that anyone eats at the hotel restaurants as they are very expensive in comparison with the surrounding restaurants. The roof top bar is fantastic, watching the sun set as the sunlight catches the gold facade of the duomo is an amazing experience. Very helpful staff. Stay there!

This hotel is a great value -- it is a beautiful hotel with very accomodating staff. Walking distance from the train station and many good restaurants all around it. We would definitely stay there again.

“Like going back in time (in a good way)”

Our initial welcome was friendly and even indulged our poor attempts at Italian. From then on everything was as we hoped, the hotel itself seems as though it was sophisticated and elegant fifty or so years ago, has been let go a little bit in the intervening years, but is slowly getting there. The location is very handy for all the major tourist attractions, breakfast was very nice and relaxed, and the (seperate but in-house) retaurant was very intimate with good food. Would definitely go back there again.

“Very enjoyable stay.....”

This is a lovely boutique hotel that is located very close to everything important. The staff was terrific from check in to check out. The breakfast was adaquate, but not great. We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of our trip to Italy and again at the end of our trip to Italy. I would definately reccommend this hotel!!!

“Awesome Florence Hotel”

The Astoria is definitely a great place to stay. The room (and bathroom) are spacious and the location is convenient to all local interests. The front desk staff and bar staff make you feel welcome! No question, I would definitely return in a heartbeat!

“Location, location, location!”

We stayed for 7 days and were very pleased with this hotel. It is ideally located (next to markets and close to Duomo. Our room was large (compared to most European rooms) and the bath was beautiful Italian marble. Staff is friendly and lobby is very nice. Close to wonderful restaurants. Only problem is street noise, but location is worth it! We will stay there again.
