“Close to Florence airport, but that's all”
Downtown Florence is only 10 minutes from the airport. You don't need an airport hotel, and I don't recommend you stay here even if you do. You can stay in downtown Florence, and pay 15 E for a cab to the airport - the flat fee. If you stay at this airport hotel, you are charged the same flat fee even though it's 2 minutes away - so you gain nothing by staying close to the airport. The hotel itself is located in an industrial area and there is, in my mind, nothing interesting to do, see, or eat. Nor would most people feel safe wandering around the area. The hotel does not have a restaurant. The hotel has one overworked and very crabby desk clerk who is constantly busy booking the many tour groups that wind up there. Expect long lines. You can't just stop by the desk to get directions or advice. I can say that the hotel room was clean and not cramped. But it was disturbingly monochrome and had absolutely nothing on the walls. I found it to be a sterile and somewhat creepy hotel. Give this one a miss and stay downtown.
“Clean, friendly, convenient.”
Small, clean, minimalist room. Friendly, helpful staff. Wireless internet was slow. Located right next to bus stop into town. Met our needs. Would stay there again.
“Great Clean Modern Good Value Hotel in a slightly seedy neighborhood”
We had a very pleasant stay here. This place is modern, well-maintained, and clean. We had decent WiFi access in our room. The other hotel guests included Italians, other Europeans and tourists of all ages. There's a 24 hour reception counter with a tiny snack/convenience shop. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. It's located about 10 minutes by taxi (10-12 EUR) from Peretola airport and about 20 minutes by local bus (2 EUR per person per trip) or 15 minutes by taxi (12-15 EUR) to downtown Florence. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit rundown and plain-looking but in terms of safety, it feels just fine during the day. We noticed seedier elements around midnight when we got off the bus to return to the hotel. Although the location is not ideal for a perfect Florentine vacation, we would definitely stay here again.
“Staying in Florence and want to be close to the Airport.”
I stayed in places in Spain, Germany & Italy and this place was one of the best, and was the one that completely met the description online. The had a nice free breakfast, the bedroom is clean spacious and modern & the bed's are SUPER comfortable! Also, there is a computer station and you get free access to use it to surf the Internet. Also, it's incredbily close to the airport so if you have an early flight this place is ideal. This place is not near the center of town, however there is a bus stop right outside that is super cheap and quickly gets you right to the center of town.
“No surprises”
The front desk and our room were exactly as pictured on the website. We had an early flight and set our own alarm, just in case, even though we had asked for a 5:30 am wake-up call and early taxi pick-up. Both came through as ordered, and we rate the staff as dependable and professional in meeting two very important customer needs. The room was clean, the shower worked fine, we had good hot water and sufficient towels. The bed was comfortable and we were quite satisfied with the hotel as a one night stay close to the airport.
“Three Stars is a Stretch”
We used this hotel because the online price was attractive and so that we would be near the airport to pick up friends who would be arriving at the airport the next morning. For this it was convenient. We didn't try to the buffet breakfast (7 Euros extra per person) but it appeared to be similar to the basic continental breakfasts available in the lower end US Hotel chains. The eleveaor were very slow and one of them was so small it could accommodate only two people. Rooms are clean but rudimentary, with no strange neon lighting that made it impossible for one of us to read while the other slept. The bed was comfortable, but the street traffic was pretty loud and in the morning the plumbing noises resulting from showers and toilet flushes in other rooms were notable. The advertised free wireless service was down and since this condition has been reported at this hotel for several months' of reviews, one must assume this is a permanent condition--and false advertising. The neighborhood is a non-descript collection of concrete apartment midrises with very little green...surprisingly we were able to find a small local restaurant around the corner that served us a late night (21:00) dinner that was excellent.
“Convenient Hotel for the Airport”
We stayed at the B&B Hotel Firenze Aeroporto on our last night in Italy since we were flying out of Florence early the next morning. When we arrived in our assigned room, we discovered that it had yet to be cleaned. After a quick chat with the check-in desk, we were moved to a different room that was clean & ready for us. The B&B Hotel Firenze Aeroporto is about an hour walk from downtown Florence, so not especially convenient for sight-seeing, but it is just a few minutes from the airport. It appears to be undergoing a name change/renovation, so there was no on-site restaurant when we were there (just a place to get coffee). The neighbourhood is a little sketchy and there aren't many places to eat near-by either. Overall, it's a decent & cheap place to stay for those looking to catch an early flight, but be warned that the cab ride costs a lot more than you might expect (~15 euros for a 5 minutes ride).
“Good but misled”
Close to the airport, but no restaurants in the area
“Good price, good location”
We stayed in Florence for only a day. Hotel was close enough to the historic places, but we did have a car to go wherever we please. The room was big enough and facilities were modern. Breakfast in the morning was good also - i.e. what we expected, nothing spectacular :). So, for the money, the service, location and amenities were quite good. As another fellow traveler stated, I don't think this is a 4-star hotel, but maybe according to the Italian standards it is. To me, it was a level of Best Western or Holiday Inn Express - if comparing to the US chains.
“3 DAYS IN MAY 2010”
Overall, this is a decent hotel to stay at! The breakfast is very Italian standard and very good; we had dinner one night and the food was excellent. Much higher on the list of things is the fact that free parking is available, which is the main reason we stayed here, plus the fact that previous hotel guests had mentioned that there was a bus schedule available that would take us down town. The bus is a very close walk from the hotel! You can buy your initial tickets from the bus driver and after that find them at a slightly lower price in various commercial stores. (The Engish speaking hotel clerk will help you find the bus and the tickets!) As for the room, just check out the on-line photos. What you see is all there is: a bed, one wooden chair, a desk, and the bath room is satisfactory. The room is good size and it was clean. My only complaint is that the Wifi only worked one night for approximately one hour, but we weren't staying in the room all that long and e-mail wasn't our highest priority.
