Getting there: There is a public shuttle bus from the airport to Santa Maria Novella train station. The fare is €4.50 and tickets can be bought on board. There are then public buses from the train station to Santa Maria Maggiore Square for Apartamenti Centro, ask for the Dome or the Cathedral. A taxi from the airport to Appartamenti Centro will cost around €25. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around: The centre of Florence is compact and best explored on foot. Traffic is restricted in the city centre and parking can be expensive. Bright orange buses service the city centre; tickets can be bought at tobacconists or vending machines. Tickets are sold on a time basis - one-hour, two-hour, or 24-hour tickets. Taxis are available outside Santa Maria Novella Station.
