Flims, along with two nearby towns, share a large ski resort in the surrounding Alps. Cable cars make it easy to gain mountain access, whether its for skiing and snowboarding in the winter; or hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing in the summer. The area is dominated by the Flimsersteina large distinct rock formation visible almost anywhere around the town.
