“Great value, but be aware ...”
I would recommend this hotel, but it was a close call. On the plus side, we felt it was a great value, and the location is excellent (right off I-40 in Flagstaff). The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and polite (perhaps the best I've ever experienced). They have some nice amenities for a hotel of this price (pool, sauna, whirlpool, longue, newspapers, free wireless, etc.). On the minus side, rooms for 4 (or 5 with a cot) are pretty small. Not a lot of extra room. Some of the sheets and spreads were old (had holes in them). For some reason, the maids didn't clean at all one day, and they didn't give us enough towels, toilet paper, etc. when they did clean. Overall, the maid service was probably the worst I've ever experienced. Again, it's ironic, since the front desk people are terrific. Also, we went in December, and the parking lot didn't seem to have been plowed, so it was icy. The parking lot itself seems a bit small. You can't turn left out of the parking lot onto E. Butler Ave, which makes travel a bit more challenging at times.
In summary, overall, I would recommend the hotel for its value and friendly front desk staff. But to some extent, you're getting what you pay for.
