Our main door did not lock. So at 9pm as I had just finished showering the kids a man pulled our door open and said we were too noisy. The stair ways up to our apartment had animal faeces and junk in it. The Smell and visable mould in the second bedroom was unbearable to stay in. The staff were nice and snorkelling was amazing. The pool was beautiful.

The employees are incredible. So friendly and helpful beyond normal standards of service. Can’t rate them high enough. The facilities however are worn, broken and on a horrible state of disrepair

Adequate accommodations and facilities. Turtle tour was 45 min and just saw one turtle in one tank not the medical facilities at all. Boat tour for snorkeling wasn’t worth it- didn’t see anything different than you see from the beach (make sure you snorkel both the area in front of the resort and down by white rock).

There is only one resort on this island so it’s quiet nice however a lot of ships are coming with tourists during the day so some beaches are crowd. We did not like the service Maintenance we asked for 2 plates and knifes waited 3 hours no response Needed to call again Diving shop There are Hugh lines when are you coming around 3 pm no pools towels They send to reception deck. They have people for check in. Need to wait again. 2 persons are servicing one couple, asked for towel they pretended to be busy. Restaurant Working hours for breakfast 9-11 am. We and other couple arrived at 10 am, they said no more reservation despite on a lot of tables were vacant.

Beautiful Island wish we had known to take breakfast food as unit fully equipped kitchen although dishwasher out of order. Only option to eat was overpriced restaurant or Foxy's Bar which was ok. Small general which did not sell milk or bread so forced to eat at the two restaurant options.

Stayed in the two-bedroom apartment,.The apartment it self was amazing overlooking welcome bay, it was bright and clean the connecting studio was as expected quite dark with only one window overlooking the walkway at the back of the property. After reading the reviews we did bring our own food over however the quality of food at both restaurants was really good. The staff were all lovely and helpful and the island is amazing, got to see lots of turtles.

Resort is nice if you stay for more than a day or 2 you will be bored as not much to do. The restaurants are over priced bar food with limited menus and i had my diving cancelled numerous days due to staff issues.

Upscale back-packers, not a 4.5 star resort!
An upscale back-packers' resort, not a 4.5 star resort. Room smelled of sewerage and damp. There is one restaurant with a limited menu or a cafe style bar called Foxys which is basic, underwhelming with greasy food. No daily room clean. A beautiful island, however the resort over promised and under delivered.

My daughter participated in a work-study program through her school so was on the island for a total of 12 days. I met up with her at the end of her trip to go diving and enjoy the island a bit. The staff at the check in desk were friendly and incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to try and help us out no matter what the time. I completed a total of 2 dives with a dive master named Violet. Her enthusiasm and love of the sport was obvious. The weather the second day was cooler and too cold for us to dive with the shortie wetsuits provided so we hiked the Summit Trail instead. Beautiful overlooks and a must if you are physically able! Our AC was not working which ended up not being a big deal as it was winter, and the technician who was sent to check it out was prompt and courteous. Overall a nice experience! Two to 3 days is a good timeframe in order to see what the island has to offer.

Unique location on an island adjacent to a National Park. Very close to beach with sea turtles visible when snorkeling off the beach. Dining options are limited - - this is a remote island

Fitzroy island is such a beautiful place definitely a not to miss location there is one complaint about the island unfortunately and that is the staff that run the island and also the workers . I’ve never met such a bunch of sad sack people with not an ounce of hospitality or character in any of them! I’m not to sure what the deal is with the staff but looks like they are all forced to be there against their own will. Some of the staff have no clue what is going on nor do they care. Other than the staff the island has a unique appeal about it that is highly recommended to visit just don’t expect to see the staff happy or smile in the process.

Booked 2 King studios. Terrible location, back of complex, only window looking out back onto walkway used by everyone so you needed to close blinds for privacy so no natural light and as walkway used by everyone constant noice. I booked 2 studios, but if I'd realised they were so bad, i would have happily spent extra to get a 2 bedroom room. So as far as the resort goes, it was bad. Maybe we were punished for using a booking agent. Went to Foxys for cocktails, told not enough staff to make them so headed to Zephrys but couldn't order a cocktail until we went thru the process of booking a table, then waiting 5 minutes for a staff member to take our order, then waiting 25 minutes for our order not to arrive, to be told a mix-up had occurred with order. Told them to cancel order, which was agreed, and moved to Roxy's. All good but had to fight on check out to stop payment for cocktails being charged for drinks never received. Went to Roxys and ordered dinner. Brother in Law ordered Burger before me. Advised him they took Frozen Burgers from freezer and dropped in deep frier. Thought a little amusing but when burger arrived it was so burned black. Urged him to return but he said no, at end of meal confirmed terrible, other meals okay...dont buy the burger. So if you stay at Fitzroy resort don't use king studios, rooms 102 & 104 worst ever.

Absolutely beautiful property, our room was a bit let down and could have done with some maintenance. Some random bugs kept flying up from our bathroom sink so had to push plug down but otherwise did the job for a few nights and staff were nothing but helpful! Lauren who took our snorkel safari was amazing and so kind! Would definitely recommend!

Disappointing
Beautiful island spoilt by poor customer service and bad management at the resort. It was being run by backpackers for backpackers, none of the staff couldnt give a dam about the customers. The apartment had a full kitchen but the so called general store had nothing that you could cook only pies and muffins, not even butter for your toast. Foxys beach bar / cafe was only open lunchtimes and Friday evening the Zephers the main restaurant had a very limited menu and if you didn’t book they turned you away. The pool bar was closed in the evening even though it should be open until 8 pm. We asked for a pinacollada and the barman said no, I’ve run out of coconut juice, the restaurant bar had some but he couldn’t be bothered to get it so I had to get it myself, he wasn’t bothered at all , very poor service in every way ,such a shame as such a beautiful place. The hotel seemed to be run by young kids who just did as little as possible and most of them could be found out the back playing with their phones. Very disappointed

This is more of a 3 star resort than 4.5 star. The reef is beautiful around the area but the accommodation and facilities are tired and need updating. Next time I would go on a day trip instead of staying overnight in overpriced accommodation. If you do stay, request a room on level 2 or 3. Don’t stay on the bottom level, it has a musty, damp smell.

The gentleman at the reception is so accommodating and nice. We loved the island. Too bad we came at the rainy season. It rained most of the stay. We will come back.

The island was lovely and it was great to spend time without rushing for 3 days. The room a shower was nice. However, we tried phoning the property over 10 times during different times before our stay and no one responded, the tap in our room leaked over the table and made a loud noise so we had to clean it often, there was always a line at the reception and you had to wait easily 10 mins just to get a towel, the room wasnt cleaned in the morning, and the restaurant, breakfast and turtle tour was booked out so we had to eat at the pub which was not very good at all. We tried booking these prior to our stay but no one answered us. For close to $1000 i expected more but we had a lovely time anyway! The pool bar and cocktails were a highlight. Id do a day trip in the future.

If stay in ground floor units you hear all the footsteps of guests that stay on the top floors. That happens all day long. Rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the resort. If you open your sliding doors, you will wake up with a lot of mosquitoes bites. The best area is nudey beach.
