Very short stay and unable to make full use of the various hotel facilities but this is clearly a well run, well established, hotel which has had a good face lift and now sits proudly on the coast above a wonderful beach in a celebrated walking/surfing/golfing paradise.
Don't have much to fault about this B&B. The service was perfect, both staff we met were extremely polite and helpful. Only 5 minutes walk to Newquay town center, if that! Breakfast was served in your room which was a added bonus for me as it meant extra time in bed. The food was very nice, although they don't always have fish which was on the breakfast menu, much to my boyfriends disappointment. We stayed in the Superior Double Room which was a pleasant size, with a basic bathroom. TV was a little small but we didn't spend much time in the room so it didn't matter so much. I like the fact they gave you a key for both your room and the door to the B&B, I've stayed in B&Bs before where they leave the main door open all night. The room was very clean, although when we first arrived I noticed a empty crisp packet down the back of the bed side table, which was a little disappointing but things like that don't bother me so much as long as the bed sheets and bathroom are clean, which they were! You have to be lucky to get a parking space at the front of the B&B which we were a few times, but if not they're nearby side roads which have free parking. Overall, I was very happy in relation to what we paid for the weekend.
Cotehele Lodge Newquay is a family run establishment situated on Tower Road, Newquay. It is very close to Newquay's …More
Friendly, attentive staff. Room spacious and well equipped. Only minor complaint was that duvet was too heavy for time of year but staff were happy to change it once it was brought to their attention. Meal in bistro restaurant was extremely tasty and good value for money.
Stayed for our 20th wedding anniversary.Wendy and Dave were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh towels provided daily. The breakfasts were delicious. Just a short walk into Newquay town centre. Parking provided. Blessed with warm sunny weather in mid September.
It was a short stay but a pleasant one. Kate and Paul, our hosts, were fantastic.
There were some issues with the parking arrangements and how to get there.
The rooms are clean and pleasant.
We found the price too expensive for the facilities of the hotel.
This hostel is based in a brilliant location for the clubs and bars of newquay. If that is what you are after, then look no further. The room was clean and comfortable, our room even had a sea view, in which we watched the sunrise. Although we didn't make it to the breakfast I am sure it would have been very tasty! The staff were also really helpful, and answered any questions we had.
Tir Chonaill is a lovely family run bed and breakfast that likes to look after their guests. The large rooms are nice and homely with comfortable beds and en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. There's a shaving socket in the mirror, but only works when the light switch is turned on. Our room had two single beds as well as a double bed, some bed room furniture and mirror, also a
couple of lounge chairs and a T. V. with
minimal channels. A radio alarm clock and
hair dryer as well as tea and coffee
making facilities are available in the
room. Plenty of sockets to charge your laptops and mobiles. FREE Wi-Fi works
well any where in the building.
Parking space is limited and parking round the back of the b &B is available. You must tell Bridie what car you have so
no one gets boxed in.
Breakfast is plentiful and varied from fruit and cereals to full English ( cornish).
You get well looked after by Bridie and she will endeavour to get you what you want.
We had a problem with our car on the way down and Bridie and Terry directed us to the local garage, and we didn't get ripped off either, in fact l queried the bill as l thought they undercharged us.. . So a bit of local knowledge goes a long way.
Well worth it and will surely recommended tir Chonaill to anyone.
