As ever we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This hotel remains my favourite (worldwide). The birthday party was perfectly arranged by the events coordinator, with the absolute minimum of fuss. This is the third such event they have organised for me.
Friendly, attentive staff. Room spacious and well equipped. Only minor complaint was that duvet was too heavy for time of year but staff were happy to change it once it was brought to their attention. Meal in bistro restaurant was extremely tasty and good value for money.
Stayed for our 20th wedding anniversary.Wendy and Dave were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh towels provided daily. The breakfasts were delicious. Just a short walk into Newquay town centre. Parking provided. Blessed with warm sunny weather in mid September.
It was a short stay but a pleasant one. Kate and Paul, our hosts, were fantastic.
There were some issues with the parking arrangements and how to get there.
The rooms are clean and pleasant.
We found the price too expensive for the facilities of the hotel.
"hotel ok but they have got the leisure side wrong"
There are some really goods points; the bar area and lounge are very well done - although these areas clearly have been this way for many years and the regal look remains attractive. Room was ok; basic TV with no sky or movies as options.
My only reason for classing this hotel as generaly OK was the dissapointing spa area - sauna was the size of a telephone box, changing room had 1 seat to seat down on, tiny lockers, two showers which took up 3 times the space that everyone had to change in; whilst i was changing there were 7 people trying to dress in a 3 metre square area. Pool cleaning kit left by the bubble spa but easily the worst thing was the amount of locals that poored in, there seems to be a membership option meaning both the gym and pool area were populated by alot of them particulalry young lads aiming to get buff with their mates - I did speak to a couple of hotel guests who found it intimidating and far from inviting.
One more thng - the resurant staff were at times inexperienced; i had to ask for knives and forks etc which i thought was a given in that job.
I stayed at the here for 7 nights and it was by far one of my favorite holidays thanks to Pentire Hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly which made my first ever visit to Cornwall very relaxing. The food was lovely, the room, leisure areas were very clean as well. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends and family and will recommend it to anyone visiting Newquay and wish to have a relaxing holiday.

This hostel is based in a brilliant location for the clubs and bars of newquay. If that is what you are after, then look no further. The room was clean and comfortable, our room even had a sea view, in which we watched the sunrise. Although we didn't make it to the breakfast I am sure it would have been very tasty! The staff were also really helpful, and answered any questions we had.
Tir Chonaill is a lovely family run bed and breakfast that likes to look after their guests. The large rooms are nice and homely with comfortable beds and en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. There's a shaving socket in the mirror, but only works when the light switch is turned on. Our room had two single beds as well as a double bed, some bed room furniture and mirror, also a
couple of lounge chairs and a T. V. with
minimal channels. A radio alarm clock and
hair dryer as well as tea and coffee
making facilities are available in the
room. Plenty of sockets to charge your laptops and mobiles. FREE Wi-Fi works
well any where in the building.
Parking space is limited and parking round the back of the b &B is available. You must tell Bridie what car you have so
no one gets boxed in.
Breakfast is plentiful and varied from fruit and cereals to full English ( cornish).
You get well looked after by Bridie and she will endeavour to get you what you want.
We had a problem with our car on the way down and Bridie and Terry directed us to the local garage, and we didn't get ripped off either, in fact l queried the bill as l thought they undercharged us.. . So a bit of local knowledge goes a long way.
Well worth it and will surely recommended tir Chonaill to anyone.
