Beds were clean and comfortable , shower was good . The hotel is very old , dated and shabby though . OK for a nights sleep except for the noise from the air conditioning/ heater system outside the building .

The room was clean. The shower was not very good the pressure wasnt good and the water took a long time to heat up.

This accommodation had the most comfortable beds out of all our holiday stays. :) It is an older venue that could do with new carpet! But it was clean and had everything we needed including a big room to relax in. The location is handy to main roads and to the township. Very easy parking.

Tidy, basic and cheap. Worked well for a quick overnight stop and would be cool with a makeover. Be nice to see some extra amenties in the room (toaster/microwave) and better reception WiFi.

Property is well behind in maintenance of rooms and facilities. Light fixture screws missing Shower hose fitting too loose, so points down not out, toilet seats loose. Other room shower, water flow temperature changing all time when in shower. On plus side we did have room change given to us when faults of first room discussed.

Wifi didn't work. Hair dryer didn't work. Water in shower would run warm with bursts of cold while in use. Bed has a heating pad with the plug located right where you lay so it's a bit uncomfortable to sleep on.Staff was friendly. Location is quiet.

The property was very outdated and could use some upgrading. It was clearly in its prime time 30 years ago. Otherwise, the room was clean, the staff were helpful and the beds were comfortable. Wifi was super spotty.

Worst place in Te Anau
This was the worst place we have stayed in during our three weeks holiday ( tail end as well). What’s on the web site is not what you get, we booked for two nights and wished we could have changed it. This place is so run down and so old. Cold water tap would not turn off and had trouble trying to wash your hands in the basin as tap spout was too close to the back of the sink. light over amenities and back of main bed didn’t work and we reported to manager and they couldn’t care less. Web site says has meals and drinks but it was all closed up and doesn’t seem to have been in operation for some time. Definitely Would not recommend this place !!!

Owners were extremely helpful. Internet was very slow and TV was fuzzy with only 3 channels but overall we had a good stay. Good value. Would stay again.

I enjoyed the stay at Fiordland Hotel. Very good value for money and I think it has been underrated. Good comfy beds and nice hot showers. Doesn’t bother me when the building seemed a bit dated. All the facilities in the room are still quite nice.

Was a cheap place to stay but wasn't a great place to stay , tv only had 2 working channels which we all pixilated , no fan and room was super hot, staff was okay , not much of a greeting nor when I left did they ask any question

The lack of any staff available in the region caused many properties to close. This hotel is offering accommodation only, no meals, bar or other facilities. Clean and quiet but BASIC but there is not much else available in Te Anau.

We where given the wrong room which had bubled carpet, we then got a room with two beds which was not as bad but the heat in the room was unbearable. No air con, no fan. The window and doors have no screens so you can't leave them open to allow air to flow through. You don't have a microwaive in the room, there is a small one in the common area. We hardly slept due to the heat, try to fine somewhere else.

Nice location as easy access to the roads in and out and to Milford Sound Property was quite tired Pool was closed :(, in the middle of summer too, wow !!!

Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced. If I hadn’t waved down the builder/handyman I probably would have never been able to check in. Office was locked, phone was not answered and still to this day (1 week later) I have not had any of my calls or messages returned. Absolutely appalling. Thank you to the kind builder who was able to find a key for the room, and then help change our room when the door didn’t close, let alone lock. A shame given that the actual room was quite nice especially for the price paid. You probably couldn’t pay me to stay here again.

The property is showing its age a little, but the prices are excellent, the rooms are clean and the staff are fantastic. It's a fantastic base for your Fiordland adventures on a budget.
