Fantastic people and location, well maintained.

Posted 24-Jul-2015
Pros: Staff, location, weather.
Cons: Bikes could be maintained a bit better, but that said, it was a blast to ride old world bicycles.
Location: Stay at resort, or walk across the road to a lovely shopping village, buy fruit from locals, bike ride, kayak, drive to Suva. Cruises, snorkelling!
My husband and I had a blast. The locals are genuinely nice and very helpful and laid-back. The rooms and the surroundings are well maintained. You want for nothing! Great programs, lots of fun. I loved it.

Older Resort but still very nice.

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Pros: Resort gardens were amazing, great to walk thru.
Cons: Not sure if its a Fiji thing but Satellite Television Channels and/or free Internet throughout the resort
Location: Location is near Pacific Harbour, nice little town. Had a very nice meal at the Water's Edge Restaurant
We stayed overnight, coming from Suva and heading to Denarau. We were greeted by some friendly reception staff with a cold face washer and cold drink. We were directed to our Ocean View room, very nice view but very dated with only a double bed.

Beach front with a marina adjacent.

New wing opening in September should be wonderful and will allow old wing to be renovated. Walking distance to the Cultural Centre where there are market shops and cafes. Excellent golf course owned by hotel. 40 mins drive to Suva.

Great resort for families.

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: Fantastic staff, very friendly. Good base for doing activities. Food was really good, loved the mini pancakes at breakfast!
Cons: Current resort needs updating - furniture worn, leaking ceiling in dining area. Better food options for kids <5 Need mushrooms for buffet breakfast!
Location: Great location but far from airport = $$ transfers! 45min to Suva, 10min to shops, next to river, right on beach, close for island trip, tours.
We stayed at the Pearl for 11 nights with our 2yr old daughter and loved it. The staff were very friendly and great with the little one. We liked that you could get out and walk 10 minutes down to a little group of shops that had souvenirs, cafes and a grocery store. It was also fun to be able to take a free shuttle across to the golf club when you wanted a change of scene for your meal. The pool isn't huge but has a good wading section for toddlers. What I loved was that you could go for a swim at the beach which is right on the resort. It's also a good stretch of beach you can walk along. If you read the reviews you may be put off by things like inadequate shower screen, unmopped room floors, worn out furniture, expensive meals - yeah, we found these to be true but decided not to let it ruin our holiday (and had a great time). If you want high end then go somewhere else and pay $$$! It's a reasonably good place to stay for families with lots of options for stuff to do. What you don't spend on luxury you can spend on activities. Yes the meals are a bit pricey, but it's no different from going to a cafe or restaurant and we found the meals to be really good. The only problem with the kids meals are that they are too big for 2yr old's! The current renovations didn't cause us any problems and the new additions to the resort look promising. Hopefully they renovate the current resort when this is done. Overall the Pearl is a great place to stay, especially for families.

Good hotel on the beach. 3.5 star

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: Closeness to the beach
Cons: Update the rooms, provided free wifi even for half an hour. Fix the phones ...our medical emergency was not handled very well.
Location: Pacific harbour is close by, 20 min walk to shops where you could buy groceries, wine beer etc. taxi off the street is $3.50 to shops.
Originally got a garden view room which was good but dated. In fact most of the rooms in this hotel needs to be updated. Good news that the new hotel block may open this year. Our room phone did not work, when mentioned to guest manager, we were changed to a sea view room where phone worked in that we could receive calls but not make calls. Trying to contact a doctor was very frustrating with reception eventually making calls for us. Beds are comfortable , Air con worked fine, limited towels in room. Toiletries not topped up at all during our 3 night stay. We ended up using our own. Breakfast was good, had a egg station. Food in bain-Marie not hot. Loved the fact they had roti & a veg curry every morning . No free wifi 😒 even in the lobby. Wifi is available at a cost of FJ$15 per day or $35 for 3 days. Staff very polite & obliging. Loved the fact I could walk out on the causeway and see the beautiful coloured fish .

Spacious Setting with manicured lawns and gardens.

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Cons: Some of the staff's tops with the Pearl logo looked worn and faded.Have two paddles for the stand-up paddle boards!. Throw out ripped towels from pool
Nice ambience in the buffet/bar area looking out to the ocean. Whilst admiring the view the sound of music especially by Nem and Talei complimented the scene, (her voice was like silk and range of tones that was just so easy to listen to and enjoy). The staff were warm and welcoming and colourful like the arrangements of flowers and plants throughout the Pearl.

Great place to stay

Cons: Exterior of buildings will soon need some upgrades but I understand that's in the planning stage
Staff always friendly. Rates economical. Great breakfast. Nothing negative at all.

Nice and adequate.

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: Hit the mark.
Cons: Staff could be more attentive - but were all very friendly.
Location: Great to use as a base for diving.
Great to use as a base for diving. The hotel is basically being rebuilt so it appears all accommodations will be replaced within the next few months.

A Pearl

Posted 18-Jun-2015
Pros: The staff and the size of the resort. Very personable.
Cons: Undergoing a massive upgrade so it's not fair to say at this stage that anything could be improved, it can only get better with the upgrade :)
Location: This resort is great as there is the Pacific Harbour Village within walking distance, and this had some amazing little stores and eateries.
The staff at this resort are world class. We felt so at home, they couldn't do enough for us. The resort is undergoing a massive upgrade, and we will definitely go back. The weather wasn't great for us in the week we were there but we just wanted a week of relaxation. The food was more than you would want. The views from both restaurants were amazing. We were so sad to leave.
