Beautiful hotel, great staff

Location: Pacific Harbor is close to two world-renowed shark dive operations. There are villages to visit up to Navua River. Suva is within reach by bus or car.
My wife and I spent our Summer holydays in Fiji (January '15) including a 10-day stay at "The Pearl". The staff was very kind and helpful.

Great resort!

Right on the beach, and across the road from the best shark diving in Fiji at Aqua Trek Beqa. 10 minute walk to a great little village/shopping plaza - what more could you want?

Excellent location

Posted 08-Mar-2015
Lovely grounds however the accomodation is getting a little dated, however the new development looks promising. Wifi should have been complimentary, and food was slightly overpriced. Staff could have been more informed about bus transport. Overall, a relaxing place to stay with plenty of activities.

Nice, in need of the current renovations

Posted 05-Mar-2015
Pros: The bar and restaurant staff were lovely. The pool was great too ... would be better if the swim up bar was operational.
Cons: The hotel is currently under renovation, it should be great when finished. The tours, water activities and resort shop are too expensive
Location: Corner shops outside resort or the cultural centre 30mins walk are better options for room supplies and cheaper meals. Express bus stop outside resort
We had a garden view penthouse, unfortunately it smelt like paint upon arrival and overlooked the construction site .. not very pleasant. The construction noise didn't bother us though. Considering there was no one in the ocean view penthouses we were disappointed they didn't move us to a nicer view, there was no garden or seats for the balcony. We did find a couple of the night reception staff a little too much on Fiji time, they didn't respond to our multiple requests to put a dvd on the movie channel or to fix the wifi in our room. For the most part though the reception staff were very helpful. Happy hour was well worth going to every afternoon, the staff are fantastic and it's great value! All the food is fabulous too, I recommend the gnocchi or the steak! This hotel is great if you need to be closer to Suva but still want to experience the Coral Coast.

We stayed here for two nights and it was great being close to many activities on the Coral Coast. The room was a great rate, and the staff was very accomodating and friendly.

Too noisy, no response to complaints

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: The pool is good, very close to the beach. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The shower should have proper screens because there is no proper closure. Water comes outside and the bathroom gets messy. They should keep security.
Location: Beaches around. A few restaurants and shops.
We stayed there from 8 till 11 January. First day we found our room bed sheets were dirty. Had sand and marks on it. Towels had blue ink on them. We complained at reception to the Supervisor. They said a manager would come talk to us but no one ever did. On 10 January, while sitting near the pool, about 8 guys that were drunk were swearing and loud. They took the umbrella from our table. The hotel staff passed by but never said anything. We wondered why. We had to leave the pool area. When we went to our room the same guys were staying opposite our room. They were continuously yelling, shouting and smoking near the area and we could smell this till 5am. No hotel staff or security came to say anything to them. My kids were so scared. We didn't know what to do. It seemed they were hotel staff also because their room didn't have a number on it. Hotel should have active security guards monitoring the premises on a regular basis for the safety and comfort of guests. Staff should response to complaints. We've sent 2 emails directly to the hotel already but no response yet.

Beach dirty.... loads of plastic and never cleaned

Posted 18-Jan-2015
Pros: Food was good
Cons: Clean the beach front. Cockroaches in bathroom 3 out of 7 nights.
Location: Amazing shark diving near by... incredible experience
At first, thought it was more of a 3 star hotel, based on the room. Food was good. Beach wasn't clean.
