The finished product

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Had an amazing week at the resort. There was a fair bit of construction going on at the time of my stay. However it didnt take away from the beauty of the resort. From the projected map of the resort when its finished, it will be amazing.

It is a great place to relax, but there are also a lot of possibilities to do some activities. The staff and the hotel were great!

Hotel close to a good range of facilities

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: The staff and atmosphere
Cons: It would be nice if the Manageress spent some time the guests and had a chat
Location: Greta location with a lot nearby
I loved my time at the Pearl, the staff were fantastic and made myself and 25 year old son, feel like we were part of there family. The Fiji Night and Sunday Bar-B-Que were awesome, and good value, loved the Sunday band. I did not go to the Curry night but everyone I spoke to said it was great. The bar prices were not too bad, for a resort, and happy hour prices were good value. Best value during the day was a jug of beer for $10 fj dollars. If you like a beer give the tower of beer a go, looks great in a photo, if nothing else, and it can be filled from 1-3 Litres. Nearby are other resorts, shops and a good value craft village with a good range of facilities, so you are not ties to the resort. I felt the resort suited a more mature cliental as activities for the younger ones was not so well catered for. There is currently building work going on, I was three rooms from it and hardly noticed it, so don,t let this put you off. The resort was a bit dated but very clean and well maintained.

Nice 2 nights stay

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: Value for its price - Great location, beach just meters away from balcony, close to resturants ands shops, most stuff are exellent.
Cons: Hotel resturant could be improved, some stuffs there are really cold faced, especially when we ordered a lite dinner one night.
Location: Tour desk in hotel, got all info
Great stay in general. We did the last minute book in the morning around 10am. And get there at 12.00 noon. They welcomed us and helped with lugguage storage. Hotel was in good condition and location was just fabulous.

Value for money

Posted 01-Jun-2014
Pros: Nice food
Cons: Kids activities
Location: Arts village close by. And a few other resorts close by to eat at too.
Great value for money as we got a 50% off deal. I however wouldn't of been happy if we paid full price. Breakfast was lovely every day. Not a lot to do for kids at The Pearl.

Great small resort, but a long way to get there!

Posted 01-Jun-2014
Pros: It was a small resort and not over run with too many people. Its location to access other places for meals and attractions.
Cons: Bathroom maintenance - the shower floods the bathroom floor. More scheduled activities, particularly for the kids Staff enthusiasm for activities
Location: A long drive from Nadi! But great location for the 'Jewel of Fiji' tour (highly recommended). The arts village down the road is interesting
For the price we paid for our stay at The Pearl, it was pretty good. We loved that it was not a big, bustling resort...at times it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The room size was good for a family of four, but glad we upgraded to the ground floor ocean view (we then had an undercover courtyard to sit at night when the kids were in bed). The buffet breakfast (which was included in the nightly rate) was awesome! Plenty of choice and the quality was good. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times for dinner, which never disappointed. But it is worthwhile venturing out to other places just for a change - the arts village down the road (10 min walk), the curry house across the road (extremely cheap), the golf club, nearby resorts. The pool was fantastic, with plenty of chairs and lounges, and the surrounding gardens were lovely. Although the "beach" is sprawling, the sand is not the glowing white sand you would imagine a Fiji beach to be (go to the islands for that!!). There was also a lot of rubbish on the beach and the water was not very clear - we didn't swim in the water once. There is a lot of construction going on within the grounds. Although it does not immediately affect the resort, the sight and noise of the cranes and the cement mixers impact the surroundings, especially when trying to relax around the pool. Its a 2.5hour drive from Nadi to get there (long way when travelling with kids). Weigh up the cost of getting there against the cheap cost of your stay
