“Best sunset view”
This hotel provided exactly what we needed for our holiday. The views from our room was great. The plantation restaurant provided great food. We enjoyed every moment. Thank You Sonaisali
“Sonaisali Island Resort - just remember they run on Fiji Time....”
The Beach-front Bure we stayed in for 6 nights from the 24th July 2009 was fantastic. Beautiful views of the ocean and the sunsets were breath-taking! However, we had a few issues with the service when dining in the restaurants and using room service. A couple of times the orders were mixed up, and the quality of the food was a bit questionable - there seemed to be a lot of variability day-to-day with the quality of food. The staff are really friendly, and are quite helpful, but could maybe do with more training in customer relations. In all I would recommend Sonaisali Island Resort, as long as you keep in mind the staff may not be up to the standard of some other Fijian resorts. However, I was told by people who had stayed at Denerau and other resorts, that one of Sonaisali's biggest upsides was the laid-back nature of its surroundings and accommodations.
“Great food!”
Everyone at the hotel was soo helpful! We originally booked the hotel room instead of the bure and what a mistake. The hotel room was so dirty that when we showered dirt dripped on us from the steam in the shower. After they moved us to one of the bures it was amazing. Keep in mind even if you get the meal packages a coke is $3.50 and mixed drinks start at $20.00. Its beautiful there even if it isnt the white sandy beach and turquois water. If your looking for that stay on one of the hotels in the Mamanuca Islands. Check out rosies holiday they have tons to do when you get there!
“very enjoyable holiday”
About the only negetaive feedback I could give is that the water pressure in the room was very poor, which caused some problems showering and flushing the loo.
“Great Place for relaxing holiday”
Picked up from Denarau by Sonaisali car & taken to Island - very efficient & friendly. Very happy with our room & the facilities - well up to 3.5 star. We wanted a relaxing holiday away from the madding crowd & got it! Probably wouldn't suit a boisterous teenager but well suited to couples, or families with young kids - 5-8. Also suitable for water sports enthusiasts.
“Can't wait to go back”
The staff at the Sonaisali are all very helpful, friendly & beautiful people. The Customer Care Manager Margarieta goes above & beyond. I have never stayed at a place where you are made to feel like family it was really lovely. The actual resort is very nice, it is a resort so you do pay resort prices. I would suggest a couple of days here then a couple of days at another venue on one of the Islands or at Denaura. Short taxt ride to Airport & Nadi but the taxi's outside the hotel are the hotel taxi's & are on fixed rates - don't get return rides as you are better off getting a taxi on a meter in town. Overall the resort was an absolute pleasure to stay at.
“Very relaxed!”
We found this resort very low key and enjoyable. The decor in our spa bure was a little bit dated, but the room was a generous size and had everything necessary for comfort and relaxation. We also looked at one of the Very good view and better to ask for a bure on either end of the resort, if you like it very quiet and you don't mind a minute's walk to the restaurant and pool. It was very easy to organise activities or to do nothing. Family friendly without being overrun or crowded, even in school holiday time. Travel time from Nadi airport is short and simple. Food is quite good, but simple - seafood dishes were better than others.
“happy holidays”
Sad start when we arrived in a monsoon but things got better very quickly. Resort is a little "tired" but very clean and well looked after. Not a place for excitement but perfect for winding down and flat out relaxing. Resort is kid friendly, so if you don't want kids around this is not the place for you. Plenty of quiet times as we had a beach bure well away from the crowd but close enough to join in for "Happy Hour"!!! Food was about what you would expect from a resort restaurant but the BBQ menu was excellent. Pool was clean and swim up bar was handy. Staff extremely helpful and happy. Don't forget this is Fiji so don't expect European quality amenities, just relax and get into doing things in "Fiji time" (slow).
“First Time Fiji”
This was my first trip to Fiji and it was a fantastic experience. March is not necessarily the time of year to travel to Fiji and I understand that August through December would have a much nicer climate. With that said, the hotel facilities were great. The staff was helpful and always cheerful. There are many activities to choose from or just relax by the pool. Overall it was a great trip and I would use the resort again.
“Holiday in Sonaisali Island Resort Fiji”
Hotel and staff were superb but the service needs a lot of work. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
