“hotel excellent -”
The initial booked villa faced the road and was very noisy, not the peaceful garden view I had wanted, the management were very accomodating and i changed rooms the 2nd day - excellent, peaceful. extremely satisfied with the room and all the amenties available, everyone was friendly. The feast seafood night was superb.......
“great for families”
The friendiest bunch of people I have ever met. To be honest, I was 'Bula'd' out by the end of the trip. The beach was clean and the two completely seperate rooms with a balcony each provided the space needed for kids and their parents. Although their wasnt a large variety of food for the buffet breakfast, I would definately recommend this hotel.
“Room Reservation Mishap!”
The hotel messed up our reservation for two bedroom villa, and we were put into two seperate rooms, then moved middle of week to another room, still not connecting. This was a problem.
“Lovely and relaxing”
The Villas are very comfortable and pool and gardens lovely. We ate one night only at the Sheraton at the Feast Buffet and weren't impressed with the food . All the hot food was almost cold and it was very expensive. The breakfasts were good though and were complimentary. All the restaurants there and at the Westin were very expensive so we ate most nights at Denerau Harbour where there are lots of lovely eating places and the atmosphere was great with live bands and colourful lights. Bula bus runs to and from harbour every 15 minutes calling at all the hotels on Island so is very convenient. Staff were lovely everywhere you went and only too pleased help.
“Great Holiday”
Great place for children and parents our 11 year old had the best holiday, very safe for them to roam around and leave parents in peace. Not quite so good for teenagers.
“Lovely Hotel”
Hotel was lovely. Room was fine. Needed a bit of work, but it was on a special so we didn't complain. Food was very expensive in the hotel and quality occasionally slipped. Would the hotel please note that often we would like just a small meal and there was nowhere to have a small meal. A coffee shop would have been terrific. Lovely hotel, though. Can recommend it.
“AAA of a time”
I have visited Fiji 6 times now but this is my first stay at the Sheraton Denarau Villas We Stayed here in January 2012 for 10 nights, in a 2-bedroom garden view villa. First thing we noticed was the size of the accommodation - it was huge for the 3 of us. The 2-bed villas here are actually a studio room and a 1-bed apartment combined and the separation of the bedrooms meant the 2 adults could quietly retreat away whenever necessary. The garden view villas were the cheaper alternative (to the lagoon view and ocean view ones), but we found these preferable as they were in a quieter area and only 20m from the lagoon pool anyway. They also backed onto a grassy area with an ornamental pond. Service was excellent and attentive. Food was fairly expensive, but still reasonable by Australian standards and you expect that at this type of resort anyway. A cheaper option was one of the many restaurants at Port Denarau which is minutes away by Bula Bus (FJ$7pp for an all day ticket, under 10's free) or private taxi (FJ$5 one way). There are daily activities at the adjoining Sheraton resort, or the related Westin which was a 5 minute walk along the coastal path, and most are complimentary. Or if you prefer, you can simply do nothing (as we did) but enjoy the many pools, the beachfront at the Sheraton, the shopping and spa treatments at the Port, or cocktails/mocktails while listening to live music whilst lying back on daybeds at Chime at the Sheraton. We will be back.
“Great hotel, dubious service charges”
Lovely place, good facilities and nice accommodation. Very disappointed about the fact they put 20% on everything priced - they said it was due to the downturn of the FJD however I had also travelled to the islands on the same trip and noone else had done this. In addition it's almost a hidden charge presented on your bill at the end of each meal/drink etc (or even worse on your room charge at the end of your stay) abnd not included in menu prices. As an example the wine list says a bottle of wine is $50 and when you get the bill it actually cost 20% more which I thought was extremely maddening. The service levels are also not the same as Fiji Islands where people are a lot friendlier whereas on this resort you felt more of a tourist who they can make money out of. Nevertheless a really nice hotel and others may find the service levels different.
“"Could be better"”
The Sheraton Villas are comfortable, good location but are looking a bit tired. They are in need of a lick of paint and some new furniture. The Service is friendly, but occasionally they were a bit slow at attending to requests in regards to guest relations. We stayed in a Lagoon 2 bed villa, and it would be ideal if you have children that can swim, as we have younger children they didn't like having to either be in or out of the pool. The walk in pool at The Sheraton itself is much better for younger kids. The babysitting that the hotel offers was excellent, the Fijian Women that looked after our children of an evening were trustworthy and great with the kids. I was disappointed with the room service menu, the selection is poor and the food is very over priced for what it is. Overall I think that the Sheraton Villas are good for an older couple or a family with slightly older children.
