“The Shangri-La was great.”
We had a great holiday at the five star Shangri-La. The restaurants are fantastic - especially Takali and Kalevu. Even though it was school holidays, you could still get some peace and quiet at the adult only pool and adult only breakfast (they cater for families well too). Snorkelling right off the beach is quite good, lots of colourful fish. The Lovo and Polynesian night are great fun. The staff at this resort really make the difference, very helpful and friendly. Get the Deluxe Ocean View rooms for a little extra space and a king sized bed. If you're curious about the cost of food and drinks, you can see their menus via an interactive holiday planning tool on their website. You can see information on room configuration there too. Cocktails are about AUD$10 or you can get duty free on arrival, there are glasses and ice buckets in the rooms. The Sigatoka Sand Dunes nearby (7km south) are worth a visit and can be climbed for great views over villages, farmland and the ocean. The hike is less than 2 hours return.
“7 Great days”
All very good, the food was superb and the staff were exceptional.
“A totally fun and family friendly hotel.”
This was our first 'package holiday' with our two boys 6 and 9. There was so much for all of us to do each day and the staff were wonderful. We all enjoyed the food and the boys made the most of the buffet. The ladies who cleaned our rooms were so kind and made us smile each day by arranging the boys' teddy bears on their beds to be playing cards or chess. We came home relaxed and full of great memories. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends.
“Fun Family Holiday”
BULA! This was our 2nd trip to fiji and returned to the shangri la, This place is magic, The staff are great, they are so friendly and geniune, With so much to do (or as little as you like), Our kids had a great time (aged 10 & 6) by their great lagoon pool, snorkling in their lagoon( they were amazed that their were fish like at an aquarium shop) to the games played on the hour and the kids club Mum & dad loved having a few cocktails by the pool and the food! (how can i go back to work knowing that there is a buffet like that and I'm not there#. We went 2 weeks after the floods, so the lagoon water was a little merkie at times but was clearing up just fine, At first the food and drinks seem a little expensive, but remembering its in fijian dollars, you are in a 5star resort with a view to die for and your on HOLIDAYS, relax a little and go for it, thats what your there for...I think dinner was cheaper than a night out in sydney in comparison We as a family will definitly return again soon! I recommend the shangri la to all! A couple of tips/get a car transfer to and from the airport it doesnt cost much and so worth it Go to singatoka #cost $36fj) return in a car and explore all the little shops not just the fiji market, get a private day or 1/2 day tour around the place and see the real fiji Throw a few packets of chips and bisciuts and maybe some poppers into your check in luggage for kids as they are always looking for snacks after a full day swimming in the pool. Bula

“Perfect Family Resort”
December 2011/January 2012 was our fourth trip to Fiji in five years. During this time, we have stayed at the Fijian 4 times, the Westin Hotel on Denerau Island, Castaway Island and Mana Island. We have also had day visits to Plantation Island, Malolo Island, The Sofitel, the Raddisson, the Sheraton Villas, The Outrigger, the Warwick/Naviti and the Intercontinental. We are a family of two adults in 40's and two kids, 8 and 5. We love the Fijian resort over all the resorts we have stayed in Fiji. It has everything you need, lots of restaurant choices, room service, takeaway snack shack and great cocktails. The Bilo Bar located beachfront is a memorable, amaing place to meet other guests at lunchtime, happy hour or sunset. If you are a family travelling with others or in a big group, even better. Our room choice is the lagoon family ground floor…….has own outdoor area with table and chairs and walk straight from here to the lagoon pool and gorgeous lagoon beach (exclusive to the Fijian). Other great highlights are mini golf, adult golf course, kid's disco, adult bar/disco, adults only area, shaded area over the pool, only 15 mins to Sigatoka for stocking up on beer and supplies, many, many activities for adults and kids, brilliant babysitiing staff of approx 50 women and costs are affordable for the nanny service (only $4.50 AUS per hour). Can't fault it, BULA VINAKA KALEVU!
“Christmas in Fiji”
Our Christmas holiday was very enjoyable. We would have liked to have gone with friends as we only had one option of bar that was open until 1am and therefore we would have appreciated the company. Great place for couples and families alike....very very friendly staff who are most probably under paid for all of their efforts. We were extremely glad we went on the Sigatoka River Safari to meet the local fijian's in their village...a real eye opener. Overall a superb holiday and well worth booking through expedia to save some money. However the spa treatment that was an optional extra was not at our resort and was 30 minutes away from our resort....we were not to know this and therefore missed the opportunity of a relaxing spa day.
“Very pleased”
Excellent for young families. Good value for money and friendly staff. Can't fault it at all.
