    “A wonderful relaxing holiday”

Great weather, good choice of swimming pools, enjoyed the various restaurants for dinner. Found our room was on the ground floor which opened out to the grounds, pool and beach. Overall a very pleasant environment.

    “Great family friendly resort”

This resort was great, the staff were wonderful, they all said hello (bula) as they saw us, they adored our baby girl, greeting her by name as we went to eat our meals at the restraunt, shops were farely priced making buying needed items good, including baby foods and nappies, food and snacks, clothes and alcohol, aircon in rooms, babysitters loving and cheap and would recommend, lovely place to stay, baby porta cots available, expensive drinks in bars, and we even attended a wedding onsite at the chapel which was amazing, they had a choir which was beauitful, the 5 days that we stayed it was so reasonably priced, all products in shops, and food places are charged to your account, no need to carry money, only downside was pram access from higher level floors, making a long walk back and forth to our far room, but if we stayed longer we may have asked to change rooms closer to ramps. but pram access good otherwise. Loved staying there! Staff are wonderful!

    When to go
December is beautiful and warm, perfect for the warm pool
    Getting there
Mini vans are clean and so are taxis
    What to pack
Summer clothes, singlet & shorts only warm nights (December) And beach towels. Familys can access many baby products in the resort shops, so baby food is not needed,
    Must see
Captain cook boat tours are fun and we even took our baby on the boat, beauitful deserted island!
    Dining
Yummy buffet at one bottom level venue and yummy steaks at the bar and grill
    Nightlife
Good atmosphere at the black marlin bar, but expensive drinks
    Outdoors or beach
Beach lovely and pool is perfect, alcohol drinks are available to drink in both pools, adult pool also,

    “Best on the Coral Coast”

This place is truly a 5-star resort. The service is excellent and the staff are friendly and obliging. They always make you feel welcome. Very difficult to get around if you don't have a car as the hotel has no shuttle to town. The ocean rooms are a long way from the centre of the action (unless you want the golf or tennis) so if you have kids get a Lagoon room. If you want to while away your days in idle luxury then this is the perfect place.

    Area recommendations
You should visit the capital (Suva) and the towns like Sigatoka, Nadi and Lautoka.
    What to pack
Clothes are much cheaper in Fiji than Brisbane so you can just pop in to a local store and buy plenty of t-shirts and shorts. We took one small suitcse for 2 of us and that was enough. You don't need any formal wear as all restaurants are casual.
    Shopping
Resort is very expensive but the local shops are very reasonable. Always negotiate for at least 20% discount and if you are buying big items remember to get your VAT refund slip so you get some money back at the airport (for more shopping).

“The most amazing place i have been, got back home and booked to go back the same day”

This Hotel is not only the most amazing place i have ever stayed at around the world its the friendlist place i have ever come across. Could not fault anything with this resort.

    Area recommendations
The whole Fijian experiance is worth seeing
    Getting around
Try and organise own transport with a taxi driver once arrived, keep his phone number as hotels often make around $40 profit for just booking a taxi for you
    Outdoors or beach
Be sure to take a underwater camera , as the snorkeling here is amazing and the photos you get are undiscribable

    “I want to go back!”

The Fijian Shangri La was a fantastic place to spend a week! The staff we great, the choice of several eateries great although we did end up going back to the same 2 places - just because we loved them so much! This is a big resort with the rooms and buildings spread along the beach front, but this helped to spread everyone out so never seemed busy and the adult only area was good for a quiet (very quiet!) afternoon with my book. The firewalking show was great, snorkling a must. I recommend this resort for couples, groups, families, it caters for everyone. Thank you Shangri La for a lovely relaxing week!!

    Getting there
We booked online transfers from Nadi Airport with TTF and they were fantastic. Was an air conditioned car or SUV, no buses stopping at every resort just straight to your hotel!
    Dining
We booked the breakfast included rate and that was fantastic! Huge buffet breaky with everything you could think of wanting. You are able to take food stuffs into Fiji, crackers etc, or do a shopping tour or hire a taxi to go to the nearest shop if you are wanting to save on food. There is a sandwich kiosk at the Shangri La that had yum smaller foods also for a lighter lunch - sandwiches, pies and salads. Happy hour at the Bilo Bar for a cocktail and a perfect view for sunset is a must.

    “Great hotel for kids”

The Shangri La is a fabulous place to stay if you have kids. The Kids Club offers varied daily activities ranging from frog hunting, crab races, fishing, outdoor games etc and children can do as much or as little as they want. We stayed in the lagoon wing which has easy access to the main pool and lagoon beach. My children also loved the food, and the "Kids eat free" deal was great! Meals for adults however where rather pricey. My main disappointment was with the room, it was rather musty smelling and if we didn't keep the air conditioning running all day, even when we weren't there we'd return to damp floors. The staff were amazingly friendly!

    Must see
We took a day tour to Robinson Crusoe Island and I would highly recommend it. A full on fun day. Good value for money. We also took a bike ride into the local village which was worth doing. The sugar train ride into Sigatoka was also an eye opener, in a good way. A good place to eat in Sigatoka is the "Outback Cafe".

    “Great resort for families”

Really enjoyed staying here and the resort had quite good facilities. The resort had mainly families staying at it, where as we went as a couple. I would recommend it if you are going as a family but if you're single or in a couple and want to meet people like you its probably not for you. The resort has lots of water sports to do and has some great pools and beaches. The couples massage in the Day spa was fantastic. The food is very pricey and you are kind of at the hotel's mercy as the only restaurants are within the resort, but its what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel The quality of food was very nice. I would highly recommend the Fijian Kokoda!

“Lovely way to experience Fiji, but the service was very slowly and grumpy!”

We enjoyed staying at the Shangri-la and thought the resort offered a lot. However, it could take over an hour to get simple salad and the service was generally below average. It got frustrating at times.
