“Far Enough away from Suva !”

Novotel Suva Lami Bay is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious. Although we had our Superior Room given away, our room was comfortable and clean enough. The bar and restaurant staff were very polite and the local Fijian entertainment each night made you feel like you were truely on hoidays. Would definately go back if we were to stay in Suva again !

Area recommendations

I wouldn't recommend staying in Suva. The Coral Coast and Denarau in Fiji are much more beautiful and there is more to see from the country side and the local Fijian people who are in the country are more friendly and tourist minded than those who live in the City.

“Great views, great value”

I booked 2 rooms at the Novotel for a 2 night stay for myself and a few friends. The rooms were clean, comfortable and have wonderful views of the waterfront out to some small islands and mangroves. The hotel is great value when compared to what you get from the hotels located close to town, especially considering that taxi's in Fiji are very cheap and it costs approx $4 USD at the time of the composition of this review and take no more than 5 minutes. There are also frequent public buses if you feel like having the same experience as locals. Lami town with its simple shops and supermarkets is also a short 10 minute walkaway.

“Room for improvement”

Despite what it said in the brochure, there was absolutely NOTHING in the fridge! I asked at reception what had happened to the mini-bar and they just said "there isn't any". I asked for bottled water and they charged $6.50 for 500ml!! For a hotel of this calibre not to offer at least some free bottled water in the fridge, is quite ridiculous. I found a dead cockroach in my bathroom - they had obviously not even wiped the floor that day. I had a constant battle to have towels replaced......it seemed the girls cleaning the room could not do this - it was someone elses job! The Tour Desk people need a wakeup call.....I had one free day at the end of my stay, and asked them to book me on a tour - and to let me know 24 hrs in advance what this would be. Nothing happened - no phone call, no message, NOTHING!! I had to make alternative arrangements.......it was very disappointing. Apart from the above - I would recommend this hotel - it is far nicer to stay by the water than in the centre of Suva!

“Will never go back”

Novotel Hotel lobby and meals area were excellant but only down side was the room. Bathroom was mouldy, water in the shower kept blocking, bed was too low, sewage smell from outside or somewhere made sleeping one of the night unpleasant. We complained about blockage in shower but no real action were taken. Room needs a completed makeover especially the toilet and bathroom. Shouldn't be rated as 4 star hotel, more like 3 or lower star. Quality of their rooms is not to my satisfaction.

“Good Business stay over”

Clean tidy and newly painted. The staff are very friendly and helpful but watch the leaks in heavy rain.

No area in Suva is realy safe at night but Lami Bay is 10min out of Suva city.

“Friendly Fiji Hotel”

We liked the location of hotel. It was close to family in Fiji. The employees were friendly and helpful. The remodeling is updating the hotel nicely.
