“Not bad”

I booked this hotel for a one night stay to be near the airport for a morning flight. For that purpose it was perfect, only 5 mins on a free shuttle bus to the Airport. I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were fine. The staff were friendly and the bed was good. However it is a old Hotel and the age is showing, but for a one night stay and the cost it was not bad.

“Get what you pay for”

There's nothing wrong with staying in a room at the Mecure - it's clean, staff are friendly and it's popular enough that transfers are available with all the activities you book (e.g., island trips). Buffet breakfast was too expensive for what they offered ($25 per person for eggs and bacon) but the hotel is conveniently located directly across from what I think is the BEST restaurant in Fiji. Two night clubs are located 5 mins walk from the hotel (ED's and Ice Bar) if you're looking to party in Fiji, Fifteen mins to Port Denarau - dont pay more than $12 for a taxi :-)

“absolutely wonderufl place with bad service”

It was a beautiful place well decorated with fire at night. the fire and water combination at the pool is amazing. i would recommend anyone to go there. but there is one catch, fijian time applies at restaurant, prepare to wait a long time for food after you order. service at hotel was atrocious, wanted to kick us out at 10 am when check out time was clearly at 11am

“Only for business, not a holiday”

The room was comfortable and clean, the rest of the hotel was a disappointment. The staff were not, as is expected in Fiji, friendly. The restaurant menu didn't have enough on it and for a vegetarian was worse than useless. The hotel was okay as I was here on business and only using it for a bed, but if I'd been wanting the holiday experience I would have been very upset.

“I would avoid staying here again”

The rooms have not changed much at all in 16 years, since I last stayed here. The Air-con is not adequate, Curtains are ripped. There is no chair for working at the desk. There is no coffee table or similar. Room was INFESTED with ants. The bathroom looks as though it was made from left-overs, it had no drain cover in the shower. Overall this hotel is well over priced, stayed at other places very close for 40% less, and the rooms were better.

“Not Impressed”

Although per night room charge is quite cheap, but: They charge $3.50 per minute for an disconnected(wrong number) local call. The bath tub is old. Taxi on spot is over-charged. Breakfast is expensive. Rooms are not as clean as Anchorage.
