“Ok”
the hotel was cool but I think our sheets were dirty when we got there and My biggest compliant of all is that the restrooms were gross, they should have been cleaned, a lot!
“Great flashpacker that caters for couples”
Stayed here for four nights, was great value, most activities were free and the bure was very quaint right on the waterfront. The dinner meals were excellent, lunches a little less appealing after a few days stay, but nevertheless the equivalent of the 4 star resort i stayed after Mango bay. Very peaceful and quiet.
“Small hidden gem, not the closest or fanciest, but a true Fijian experience.”
We went here for our honeymoon, but only because of the excellent Expedia rate, did some homework but in the end we went with our gut. Once there, it is a lengthy ride (about 2 hrs) so be forwarned, we were in awe of its natural beauty. By no means is it the fanciest place but very serene in its overall look. We did have a few issues with our beachfront bure (clogged shower head, missing patio chairs) but they were fixed in mere minutes. The room is rustic but elegant, no fancy imenities (coffee pot, A/C, etc) but the mosquito netting bed and outdoor shower were an awesome touch. The meals were good and well priced but at times not available and in some cases never available even though on the menu (never any desserts). Meal service is a timed thing as well, not available on your schedule but theirs. The service is what I will remember FOREVER .... especially two in specific. The activities director actually took home our laundry to be cleaned as well as taking us shopping on his day off, also one waitress literally gave my bride one of her own uniform shirts as a momento as we were not able to purchase one .... just amazing people all of them!! Finally the noise ... yes it can get loud in the evenings and it can go late, the overall crowd is one of young people (20's) but I am almost 40 and it was not really that bad. Going to bed at night could be an issue for some but all in all it was something we were able to live with, Not a 5 star by no means but worth every penny!!
“In end oj Jan”
For couples and 'fantastic. My experience and 'the staff was positive, and' very nice and helpful. The 'one thing and I just do not' like and 'problem was that when I was to return home because' it seemed by the time that the flight had been canceled, a staff member rather than 'try to better understand the situation, and then as a 'was done for my good fortune, he continued to laugh in my face. Maybe 'cause my English is not' perfect, perhaps because 'the situation made him laugh, but personally I found the unprofessional. Other than that I recommend.
“snorkel and sunsets - both fabulous”
We had a great time at Mango Bay and would return. While a little dated and worn, the hotel is a good less-expensive option on the Coral Coast. The view from our beachfront bure was idyllic. Lots of trees for shade and relaxing with a good book. The sunsets were superb. The food was not fantastic but OK. Easy to meet other guests at the smallish restaurant area and pool. Safe and interesting snorkelling in the protected lagoon was a winner!!!
“Stunning Location, Friendly Staff but off the beaten track...”
The Coral Coast beach here is awesome. The hotel is in lush grounds. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The food was affordable and divine. There were lots of activities too but the weather on that side of the island was very rainy and all of my gear got wet and just wouldn't dry. I was in a backpacker bure and I would really recommend that. Water was leaking in and my mozzie net was full of holes and wet the whole time. So I got cold and miserable. Also had to pay to hire a towel. The hotel is a very long and difficult walk from the road and I was lucky the first time that the shuttle bus was already there. I wasn't so lucky other times and had to get a lift from a stranger...
“Not impressed.”
Nicely located for a quiet few days. Was disappointed with the standard of the resort. All but one of the sun lounges was broken. Bungalow was very peacefull but because it was raining there was no where to go and nothing to do. No chairs in bungalow to sit on, only 2 outside but you could not bring them inside as there was no room. So on the first wet day we spent all day sitting on the bed. The communal area only had dining table and chairs. If you wanted to go and have a drink you had to sit in the dining area. The worst thing overall was the pillows absolutely stunk of sweat from other people. You could not sleep on them. A nice place if you are a backpacker. Anyone requiring anything of a higher standard would be very disappointed there. We stayed 2 days then moved to another hotel for the remaining 3. Corn flakes and rice bubbles and toast was their continental breakfast. The other meals were ok but food was only available at set meal times. There was no where to get anything to eat outside meals times. No tea or coffee etc in the bungalows either. People partying in the pool at 2.00am keeping other guests awake. Not impressed.
“Understand that this is a noisey, youth hostel!”
We wanted quiet, off the beaten path and this place has space and beauty! BUT, the only place to stay out of the rain was filled with loud, smoking travelers.....and then the techno music started!! It filled every acre of the place with noise. They offered to move us farther away but you could not escape the noise. We checked out at 6:00 after just 3 hours and had to pay for the room!
