“Reasonable hotel”
This hotel was OK. The service at times was a bit slow. Overall it represented a solid comfortable hotel at a reasonable price.
“Good in parts”
The hotel really needs to work on the restaurant. This lets down the friendly service an, spacious rooms and excellent sports facilities. The restaurant service was friendly but very slow and at times unprofessional. The lack of a wine list at a 4* hotel was very surprising. The food was very good.
“Reasonable place to stay.”
Stay here if travelling from Bristol airport, you can leave your car for free. Make sue you book your own taxis though, the ones booked through the hotel are far too expensive.
“Can do better”
Once upon a time this hotel was a good hotel. Now it is very tired and in need of an overhaul. Room is fine and comfortable. But corridors are noisy and sound travels into the rooms. Rooms were a fair walk from the reception area. Reception staff need to be welcoming and helpful.
“Wolf in sheep's clothing”
We stay here frequently and have noticed a few changes since it went bust under the previous owners., not all for the better. The name invites visions of luxury but the architecture is a hotch-potch of modern sports centre, converted Victoriana and wooden two-story blocks that need a little TLC. The rooms are well equipped and tidy enough but the ambience of the creaky floors and damp-smelling corridors takes the edge of it somewhat. We dined here en-famille and had a splendid meal that was a credit to the chef given that he was very busy at the time. Breakfast is over-priced so we rarely bother but you may be able to get it included in your package for a discount. Free Wi-Fi is a big plus. They need more staff if they want to be a genuine four star hotel and to have a lobby bar that is apparently open but no service available seems a waste. It is necessary to go next door to the Sports Centre if you want a coffee, drink or snack. We will go back because it's good value and convenient but they could do better.
“It was comfortable”
Though this was a comfortable hotel the standard of the rooms did not warrant the 4* rating. The amenities that were availabe to guests had evidently boosted the rating. I have stayed in Express by Holiday Inn hotels that were of a higher standard with regard to bedrooms.
“Stay over night”
The standard of the decaration of Hotel is not as good as the last times I have stayed there. The carpets could be replaced in some parts as they are a little worn. The tiles in the bathroom could need some replacing.
“Outside from Bristol”
All in one it was only for one night. The service and the room was well.
