"Best steam room"
Excellent choice for the money. Location is fine....especially if you do not mind taking the subway. Best part is the internet. The food services are underrated. Nice breakfast, good restaurant. Staff were great.

"Great hotel"
Great hotel, really helpful staff and good location. Caught the hop on bus a block up the street and ate at several of the cafes at the square about 3 blocks away. Would stay here again next time we are in Athens.

"very cost-effective"
The hotel is clean and quiet, close to all important touristic attractions, and has free internet. The personnel of the hotel is very helpful with touristic and any other information. The area is very safe (despite first impression), with a nice and active square right in front of the hotel, with cute outdoor cafes and restaurants.

Stayed in both hotel Orion and dryads and what a difference. Orion is the way to go. But in a not so good neighborhood. Would rec paying more somewhere else. Very friendly staff though.

"Nice enough for a few nights"
When choosing a hotel for my three nights in Athens I wanted to avoid the noisy touristy neighborhoods and the seedy area around Omonia. The Proteus fit the bill and offered a good rate. It is rather a long walk to the nearest metro station, Ambelokipi, and a longer walk to the center of Athens. But I am a walker, so no problem there. The hotel is nice, modern, not too big. The neighborhood is mostly residential. The décor of my room looked like something that belonged in a brothel -- red carpeting and pink furniture, but for a few nights it was fine. The hotel does not offer breakfast but there are cafés, even a Starbucks around the corner. On my next visit to the wonderful city of Athens I wold like to stay somewhere closer.

"Excelent location, good price & bad conditions"
Hotel is located in a vibrant and easy going area, close to centre and good price however curfew is 12:00pm during weekdays, sheets were not changed in 4 days neither the room was cleaned in 4days. Hot water was limited after 1person would take shower. Considering the price our expectactions were low in terms of room's condition however with a bit of effort this hotel could be great.

"More than worth the price"
This is a great hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean. It is very well located in the central of Athens, and you will be able to walk to most of the attractions. Around the hotel, there are many good restaurants that enables you to sample the great Greek cuisines. The staff recommended 2 restaurants - Costas Sulaki, and Di Porto and both were really unique and very delicious. I will definitely make use of their services if I should ever return to Athens.

    Pocket Guide: Athens Exarhia Hotels

Students and artists reside in this bohemian area filled with low-key bars, old-fashioned cafes and down-to-earth tavernas. A hotchpotch of neoclassical buildings and modern concrete apartment blocks line its grid of busy roads and leafy pedestrian side streets. The University lies close by, and the National Archaeological Museum is a 10-minute walk away.
