“Practical and Nice”
Good location although parking and traffic can be tricky. Great, helpful staff. Good breakfast options.
“good value in a beautiful village”
ibis in chartres was an overall good value for the area. room was clean, staff efficient, and the surrounding area was beautiful and walkable. the only issue we had was with the limited parking available for guests. the garage was full when we arrived, and we had to find street parking. not a huge problem for us, but thought it might be worth mentioning. chartres is a wonderful village. if you're there in the summer months, don't miss the nightly 'illuminations' of the beautiful buildings.
“perfectly safisfactory”
Hotel is situated on a busy road but our room was at the back so we had no traffic noise. I do not know how quiet rooms overlooking the road would be. Good carpark to back and underneath the hotel. Friendly efficient staff. The Hotel is within easy walking distance of the City centre and Cathedral.
“Great place to stay in Chartres”
This hotel is an extremely good value. The accommodation may be basic but the rooms are clean and and there is a sense of security. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is also a great breakfast selection. The free Wifi was a bonus.
“Clean comortable and well positioned”
This is just the kind of hotel my wife and I love. The hotel enjoys a superb location close to the centre of Chartres. It has excellent enclosed parking facilities - though note there is a charge of 8 Euros per night. The staff were efficient and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped with all the stuff that makes life easy, in particular wi-fi and an outstandingly good shower. We are a couple in our late fifties and so for us the rather youthful style of the staff and the catering facilities - garish pictures of pizzas and the like - were not really to our taste but were not a problem at all. We simply headed into the centre for breakfast and dinner. We would probably not want to spend a week's holiday in this hotel but as a place to stay in in the course of a lengthy journey to recharge our batteries it was absolutely perfect.
“Travelling couple”
Easy to find, good position, helpful staff, secure car park, pleasant breakfast.....but wifi was not working. We will stay there again.
“Only average Ibis”
We stayed 2 nights in February 2012 at the worst of the cold spell. -8 with a wind chill factor that made it feel much worse. The hotel lobby was pleasant as were the staff but the dining room was basic and no heating in the corridors made for warm and cold spots. The heating in the room was on maximum but you had to wear a jumper, but it was very cold outside. Due to the weather we ate in the first night. The dining experience was only average, below par really. Drinks were expensive in the hotel and no tea making facilities was disappointing. No room maid until 1730 on the Sunday was weird but this could have been down to staff shortages on that day. The hotel is situated at the bottom of the hill for the town centre. Other hotels at the same level as the town would be our preference next time as Chartres is a lovely place to visit. Avoid Sundays as everything is shut. Car parking at the hotel was cheap.1.10 euros per night in their garage. If you want a cheaper place to stay with basic facilities, then fair enough.
“"Recommend it, yes and no"”
Great breakfast for the price, good local for the 10 min. Cathedral walk uphill. Nice walking park across the small bridge. Small pricey room and a crummy dinner menu, so eat dinner elsewhere!!
