“Thin walls, old/wornout linen/comforter/blanket, slow internet”
We received a call from the front desk with complaints that we were talking loud or the tv was loud. The linen/blanket/comforter was very worn out. The internet was so slow, if it worked at all, that the front said it was because they were next to Walmart and people were accessing their site from there.
“Lovely atmosphere, rooms need updating”
Lovely grounds - I especially liked our little deck with the flowering cherry tree. The rooms/bathrooms have slight dirt and damage but nothing that would make a stay uncomfortable. We had hot water and a good mattress. However, a rock band was playing there that evening, and it was very loud in the room. Some fresh paint would do wonders for the rooms. The receptionist gave us excellent advice about visiting the King Estate Winery (go there if you have time - amazing). Overall, good value for the price.
“A wonderful surprise”
We stopped at Village Green Resort on our way from LA to Seattle because it looked like a nice place to stay and we didn't wish to stop in Eugene. It was far more than "nice". The room was clean and comfortable and nicely furnished, but the real treat was the large park like garden, the fireplace cove where you could have a glass of wine before dinner, the restaurant which was very attractive and the food very good, and the surrounding country which is Oregon beautiful. We took a short drive after dinner and checked out three nearby old covered bridges. Next time we stop here we will plan to spend more time.
“old and run down rooms need updating”
rooms are right out of the 70's Hot Tub Time Machine Style!!
“A place to sleep. Not much more to say.”
This place, while obviously very nice previously, appeared neglected and run down. The rooms were small but cozy. The gardens were in a bad stated of negligence. I am sure that at one time this was a beautiful place but now there is a feeling of sadness about the place. The bar was deserted and expensive.
“Excellent hotel service, nice room”
This was our rest stop on a road trip from Vancouver to San Francisco, travelling with a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Given the former comments I was expecting an adequate but shabby hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! Clean, bright, and with friendly staff, this hotel really made our trip more pleasant. The gardens are quite pretty in February and would be gorgeous April-October. The complimentary breakfast is buffet-style and quite good. . We were upgraded to a deluxe room on arrival. I think the renos are still going on, but we got one of the renovated rooms and oh my, they are nice! Good beds, well-laid-out room and the gas fireplace as a heater was a nice touch. The only down side was the single-pane windows: traffic noise and train noise was quite noticeable and I'd bring a white noise machine in future.
“Found luxury in an out of the way escape!”
When checking in I had originally thought i was bringing my puppy, turned out I didn't and the check in man gave me a discount and an upgraded room. We got to the room and it was beautiful, decorated with beautiful pictures and the fireplace was such a nice centerpiece to the room, European duvets covered the king size bed it looked so warm and cozy. Checked out the bathroom and was pleasantly surprised by the shampoo, soap and conditioner on the wall in the shower, The shampoo was great, luxurious, and made my hair usually frizzy in rain act natural. I requested the brand on a card they provide for comments haven't heard anythig yet, but I know I will. Thank you for a great stay off the beaten track.
“Ann”
This was an incredible value. Wonderful restaurant and bar/lounge on site. Acres of gardens. The rooms are nicely done, although there were a few stains on carpet and duvet cover. This is 30 minutes from Eugene, but a nice quaint get away.
“Avoid this Hotel for now”
The section of this hotel that we were placed is in need of immediate renovation and upgrading. As a result, management has apparently made the decision not to invest in even the most minor of repairs such as: leaky faucet, burned out ligts, caulking, failing (excessively noisy) room heater, non-functioning bath exhaust/heating lamp, rotting and damaged car port, etc. This Expedia "special" was a major disappointment.
“not impressed”
Hotel was not a 3-star hotel. Maybe a 2-star. Repairs and maintenance badly needed to car ports. Room carpet looked dirty. TV and bathroom need updating. Would not choose this hotel again.
